I wasn't productive because even though I accomplished some key things they were not priorities that I set for the day. In fact, they were someone else's priorities. So while I scored big points with them I should have concentrated on doing what I needed to do and then if I had time left over help them.
It wasn't catastrophic. I still finished my goals but it was just a lesson of me working around my priorities.
"The enemy of the best is often good"
Pretty good application of Stephen Covey's having the courage to say know and scheduling around one's priorities.
Psychology is sooooo cool. Everyone needs to know/practice some aspects of it even if not in the academic sense.
