You could always enquire of momentrabbit for his musings on what tools would be best to pick up first - not a local fur, unfortunately, but power tools in Canadia are much the same. =:)

Ah, but that 44mpg is going to be for sustained use once running - my understanding is that usage from cold is much worse, though I'd welcome clarification on that point.

Money spent on audio equipment is seldom wasted. Even at the high end, you really can hear a difference, but then you're looking at multiple thousands - but gods, the rendition I heard on the system of a friend of a friend, who works with the maker of the amplifier to tweak their kit to nigh perfection, of Helium Vola's "Liod" on SACD. It was quite amazing. The voices genuinely seemed real, and that's virtually impossible to accomplish. (The iTunes version through my headphones is strongly reminiscent, but.. no, not the same ( ... )
