Could this be legit?

OK, I know this is a come on, but could it also be legit? Anyone know anyone who has responded to something like this, or done something like this? They could certainly have read (or scanned with an app) my resume and actually "selected" me for this, based on my experience ( Read more... )

I think I'd approach this very carefully; after all, if you didn't apply for a job specifically at this firm, I would be very skeptical.

Is it possible to research this company at all? I know you can look up phone #s through Google, so I wonder if you could do the same for the email address that came with the letter.

"If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is." I wonder if it's a phishing scheme....

Yeah, I already had another friend swear she'd hog tie me if she heard I'd pursued this, so, yeah, fishy is fishy...

And like the real reason I posted this was I was curious if anyone out there ever HAD pursued it. And what their experience was.

Because employers DO scout people off LinkedIn, which I am on, and there ARE overseas companies now that are paying people to handle shipping for them domestically. But this sounded like a scam. I knew that. Just wondered if anyone had ever done this sort of thing before.

I know you know this, but I'm not an idgit. ; ) :D

mmmm. I don't know. Seems phishy tho if you ask me. :/ I second haganeneko. Try to research this company a bit, Better Business Bureau and all that, ESPECIALLY if you didn't directly apply for this position. Doing shipping and receiving from home is highly suspicious. :/
