the amazing spiderman

this movie is just as good if not a teensy bit better than the 2002 spiderman. what it gives to the series is 10 years worth of improvements to cgi, 10 years worth of changes to how action movies tell stories, and 10 years worth or imagination to push spiderman that much further as a hero we love.

and andrew garfield! i know i slept on the kid because i seriously could care less about the social network. but if it allowed this guy to spread his wings and star in more films i am all for it. he's amazing! there wasn't a moment when i thought no, not this guy. he's not peter parker. this guy is peter parker!

he's energetic! he's magnetic! he's vulnerable! i believed he loved uncle ben and aunt may. i believed him as a stand-up kid, a boy genius, a smart-mouthed kid that gets tongue-tied when speaking to pretty girls.

and he has chemsitry with everything! flash? check! dr. curt? check! captain stacy? check! that wall he flew through? check! gwen stacy? double check!!

emma stone as gwen stacy totally rocked my world! i already like her as an actress and kind of adore her as a person, but she is excellent in the film.

so bring on the sequel!

and if you happen to have the webslinger find himself in the background of an avenger flick, i'd be ever so grateful!

someone said that aldis hodge is in the running for a black panther movie? YES PLEASE! the only thing that could be better is a static movie. which needs to happen! but probably won't. :(

in other news... TEEN WOLF! wtf show that episode was very, very good. like fun, campy, intriguing television. may your ratings increase (like the number of naked jackson scenes)!

movie night, movie recs, marvel, make mine marvel, the amazing spiderman, movies
