Here's some advice, anon. Give them time. A lot of it. A loved one can't be replaced, and losing someone so important is not something that can be gotten over. It stays with you.
Just be his friend. If something more is meant to happen, it's better to wait until he's ready. Otherwise you'll both hurt, and in the end, he'll lose another important person.
I am far more concerned with the fact they were able to so cleanly remove the systems without my knowledge. That any human should possess that sort of knowledge is unnerving, to say the least.
