5) I understand what you mean completely about loving someone seemingly too much after a few weeks, compared to months and months spent with someone else who can't help but be absent.
It is not so much that the one missing for months was distanced from me by their own choosing; I had been summoned elsewhere during that time. That detail aside, it appears your knowledge about such a matter is quite on the mark.
I don't suppose you would have any sort of advice on the matter... ?
I fell in love with the person I met and eventually let my other lover know about it. We broke up and I chose to be with the new addition ... although, I definitely had my moments of doubt and cheated with my ex. My new partner took me back and I've never really forgiven myself for the pain I've caused both. It's the hardest thing in the world, trying to define how the type of love you feel shifts from person to person, because you can't help but cause a lot of grief all around in the process.
I'd suggest you follow the conscience of your heart, even if you make people miserable; it's cruel, but fair. More importantly, it's honest and if you can't love them, you should at least give them your respect.
