Why are you surprised? Georgetown School Administrators are not committed to competitive education. Just count how many times they focus on the success of Georgetown sports over music, art and merit scholarships! Unfortunately, mediocrity breeds a big surprise when SAT scores arrive.

Why am I involved in this. I am the high school student pushing myself for something that is going to be tougher for me to grasp. And you should be informed before you speak, because she wants to go to bridgewater so she can see her boyfriend John Ayers.

If the boyfriend is a big factor, than I am even more disappointed. I know that there are some very independent women coming out of GHS, but I had hoped the culture of Georgetown would have made this one strong too.

Logan - sorry for taking a dig at you.

why are you picking on her???? I was talking to her mom and where she moved to is a very hard school and her GPA was brought down a whole number grade....and she does want to be with john...what is so wrong with that...i think she should go to a school that makes her happy! And she is very very smart and prob could do great in a harder school but its up to her what she wants to do. Im also looking at bridgewater...yah my brother yelled at me telling me i could do so much better but i want to go there and i dont care what people think.

Becca - I seem to remember reading that you were also seriosuly considering Bridgewater State. Please, I assume your grades are good enough to get you into much better schools. Why not aim higher?

Maybe she enjoys it there?? Perhaps she has a better feel of the campus and the student body? Grades and academics aren't every ones top qualities to look for in a college. And yeah, not all of us are looking for a party scene.
