This was a much cleaner, less muddled read than OOTP.

Yeah, and the characters' actions and responses seem more in line with what you'd expect from the first four books. I think JKR lost her grip on the characters she had developed up to that point in OotP.

P.S. I just read that there is a mention of a heavy locket that no one could open in the Black house, which Harry just so happens to own now. Unless what's-his-face has sold all that stuff.

More here (I've only just read the beginning): http://www.livejournal.com/users/garlandgraves/3409.html

Yeah, I remembered that locket, too. That's why I think it's so clear that R.A.B. is Regalus Black. Not only do they mention in HBP that he came over to the good side and that's why Voldemort did him in, but the font they use for the note Harry finds is the same font they use for Sirius' notes. I was shaking the book at the end, screaming "It's in your house! The Horcrux is in your house!!!" GAAAAAAAAAAH.

I don't think any of the enchantments on number twelve Grimmauld Place would have allowed Mundungus to steal something Mrs. Black would have wanted to keep there if the Order couldn't get her portrait off the wall.

Don't worry, Hermione will figure it out probably during Harry's last stint at the Dursleys'. Or she'll want to draw it out and it'll be the last one they find before the final fight.

My palms itch to grasp Year 7. I hope it's soon. Less than a year would be all right. Maybe.
