Decided I needed an update, and while I have been doing a lot of writing, I haven't been finishing *wince*
List 10 books you have on your bookshelf that you think nobody else on your friends list has on theirs.
Fished from
paranoid_woman The chosen 10:
1 - Fingerprints by Colin Beavan
One wouldn't think the history of the humble fingerprint would make good reading material. Well, it does.
2 - The Odyssey by Homer
I admit I haven't read this the entire way through, but every now and again I open it up to a random page and read for some inspiration. To date, I think the best portrayel of Odysseus was by Wishbone ;)
3 - The Lost World by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
I love Sherlock Holmes, so I decided to read his other major series. It actually wasn't too bad.
4 - The Ranger's Apprentice by John Flanagan
Australian author! The series is easy and quick to read and the characters are so believable. So what if it's predictable and for young teenages, one needs a break from heavy reading now and again.
5 - The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas
Okay I struggled to read the entire thing, but wanted too after watching the '93 movie. Think I'm going to have to re-read it sometime soon, cause I think I skimmed it the first time.
6 - Angels and Demons by Dan Brown
I'm sure quite a number of people actually have this book. If you don't, then go buy and read it. I think it's way better than The Da Vinci Code and the movie's coming out next year. (With Ewan McGregor in it *swoon*)
7 - Vampires by Nigel Sucking
So it's bordering on the fiction/non-fiction line, but it's a little gem of a book for people interested in the supernatural, like me :)
8 - The Encyclopedia Of Forensic Science by Brian Lane
When I'm stuck for something in writer's class, this wonderful book gives me ideas. Picked it up at a newsagents for a few dollars and has been one of the best and most used books in my collection.
9 - Hellsing by Kohta Hirano
Yes, it's a manga. but it's my only manga, well that and Hellsing 2, 3, 4 and 5. I love the characters and the universe it's set in, it's my guilty book indulgence and perfect for night-time reading when I can't sleep.
10 - Ology Books
You known, Dragonology, Egyptology, Wizardology, Pirateology, those ones. They're big, colourful with lots of information and stuff to do. Started the collection with Dragonology and haven't stopped. They're my version of picture books :)
Hmm, wonder if anyone else has these books then?
