Is it silly that, after reading a fic I loved, the first in a new fandom, I'm going through hell and high water to reach the author to say so -- even though their email pinged back with its version of "return to sender"?

The author's on LJ... but hasn't been active since 2014. Hmmn...

Not silly at all! There's no time limit on the ability of a comment to make an author smile. :)
