Oh. Oh, wow. Striving to undo past harms is hard.

I don't know Buddhism. I mean, I know what everyone who actually studies any spirituality in America knows (there's this karma/dharma concept, and maybe some reincarnation, and a lot of peaceful meditation involved), but not much else. I know there are several schools (types?) of Buddhism, and on a good day I can google for phrases that claim to describe the differences, but it's all very vague for me.

But I do know religious drama. And the getting over of it. And this is... beautiful.

My favoritest religious quote in the world:"Each of us from the moment of his or her birth exists in an environment in which it is easy to do evil and hard to do good.... If I know somebody very well, in ten minutes, if I set my mind to it, I could perhaps say to them things so cruel, so destructive, that they would never forget them for the rest of their life.
