Also-

At work we get to pick Employee Pick movies that go up once a month, so I started thinking about it and I'm not too much of a movie person - so I'll run out of things to pick fairly quickly. IF ( Read more... )

Ooohoooh, I'm into movies. Vantage Point is really interesting from a story telling perspective. Basically, there's an assassination attempt on a fictional US president at a fictional peace conference. The movie shows what happens by going through various different characters/groups perspectives one by one, and each one reveals another layer of what really happened and what happens next ( ... )

(Almost) anything by Pixar + Drop Dead Gorgeous = A+. Vantage Point sounds interesting, I'll have to see if we have it.

I know it says 'next update' but I did this in a meme before, and my desktop hasn't changed since I first started using my mother's computer. Although I've cleaned up a bit since this last meme - the background picture is still the same.

As you can see I'm the most pleasant person alive.

As for this computer, I had a picture of Ed and Al I stole from my friend's deviantart, but it somehow got switched back the default plain blue within the past year. I don't know when or how that happened, since I remember turning it on and seeing the desktop still there when I was switching around monitors two years ago.

Oh my gosh, this is the first time I've ever ran into someone who has heard of Drop Dead Gorgeous. You win like 10 gold stars.

Aw, it's cute. You have so many desktop icons...

Now Ed, whenever technology does something inexplicable, the first explanation is obviously that it is magical. You should know this.

I actually went out and bought it when I worked in Dedham because it's one of those 'cult classic' movies that NO ONE WILL RENT but you have to have it, anyway.

I made someone watch it recently and he was ... Not amused, I was disappointed. I used to watch it somewhat frequently and we'd all quote it at one another while everyone else stared at us like we were nuts, because we were talking about tap shoes, exploding trailor parks and saying things like "She's anorexic, not deaf!"

Al crying over Ed's daad body = cute. Myst, you worry me.

My magical computer stole my desk top image. This is upsetting, because I really liked it. Especially the wings. Maybe I'll raid through his dA later for another one.

Undercover Brother. The Butterfly Effect. Girls, Interrupted. Moon Child. Zoolander. Yeah buddy, those are... the best movies in the world. No lie.

Girl, Interrupted was my favorite movie for like five years. I used to watch it nightly. And don't even get me started on The Butterfly Effect. That was the first Infinifilm I ever watched alone, and I sat through it four times in a row the first time I watched it, to get the most out of all of the Infini-features.

I never really got into Zoolander, but I haven't seen it from start to finish so I'll try that again sometime if we still carry it - and look into Moon Child and Undercover Brother.

Thanks Snook.

Ugh, yeah, those are two of the best movies of all time. In... my opinion. If you haven't seen Fight Club, either, I think it's a spectacular movie.

And... Zoolander and Undercover Brother are comedies, so they're not entirely serious as suggestions, but they are okay if you like humor in your movies too.

I've always been warned away from Fight Club because I'm such a delicate little snowflake, but maybe I'll try it out anyway.

I like comedies. I'm big on comedies as a secondary category though, action-comedy, drama-comedy, romantic-comedy; that sort of thing. My biggest problem right now is that all of my Employee Picks are ... Stupid little comedies. I picked Groundhog Day and The Mummy, and we apparently don't carry The Mummy, so I switched it for Rush Hour, because that's ... Also a comedy/action category movie. And I picked Disney's Holes, because that's a kids movie and I don't want all adult or all kids movies I want to switch it up a bit - but I tried to go with things that actors are current in. Brendan Fraser just had a new movie come out and Shia Lebouf has the new Transformers - so they seemed like logical picks.

Like, I'd prefer a Night At the Museum type story to a Zoolander type story - but my tastes are so random it's kind hard to pinpoint what exactly I like. It's like the sexuality conversation we had ... I'm like ( ... )

I'm so bad for this I VOTE THE LION KING. SHORT CIRCUIT. AND SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS.

Does this mean you work near Chipolte's now?

Well the Lion King is an obvious pick. Seriously.

Practically anything Disney... and I'll have to see if we carry the other two. Short Circuit was just re-released about two years ago, I think - so we might have it.

And no, I don't work at MovieStop, I work at Blockbuster.
