It's entirely possible that the birth control is making you feel funky. I know when I switched brands I was pretty messed up for a month or two, but it gets better.
You are not going to end up working retail or food service for the rest of your life because you're too damn good for it. Don't ever let yourself wonder that. There's always something better to reach for, even if it takes a long time to get to and the journey is damn annoying along the way.
Try walking the panic attacks away, if you have somewhere to walk. At the very least, try and get some sort of fresh air. But don't let yourself sit still and cling inwards during them, because it doesn't help.
Also, relatives are overrated. And in any case, it's the holiday season and they're not allowed to be upset with you for too long during it.
And none of this is probably helping, but I thought I'd try.
