Don't bother buying a new battery; it's actually not possible to brick a battery like that, as all you're doing is changing the serial number hard coded into a 128 byte chip on the battery. Once you use an app to change your serial to one that will tell the PSP to search for code on a specific address on the memory stick, it's a snap to use the same application to change it back to something normal. Even if something extraordinary happens and this 128 byte chip gets fucked, it doesn't matter as your battery will still work normally.
Mind you, finding someone who has a modded PSP to modify your battery into a jigkick ("Pandora's") in the first place may still be a hurdle for you.
You can't "pandora" a slim psp's battery without actually opening it up and breaking a few chip connections and seeing as i want to keep it as a pandora battery i'll need to get a new one to get the slim powered up :p
Not quite sure where you got the idea that you needed to remove a connector on the 128 byte EEPROM in the battery to turn it into a jigkick; that is to say unless you're following one of the crazy guides that show you how to make a battery without using a hacked psp in the first place. In fact, using the hellcat battery tool, you can change a slim battery into a jigkick on any PSP running custom firmware, be it slim or fat, and change it back to a normal battery.
I can understand if you want to keep the battery for safety reasons, however.
Have to have a PSP with CFW for hellcat to work where as i don't have one with CFW. Going from OFW to CFW is only as easy as you make it sound IF you already had a psp with CFW on it.
I'm on Dragonmaw now, you should come over as soon as you can, I was on last night in HFP just getting some Fel Iron and I was running into other players even in remote areas there, it was awesome. (Lots of Alliance to kill as well =D )
