So, after talking with the people at UMN's Art History department I think I'll not be applying there. It looks and sounds like a cool program, but it's geared more towards the MA and then those MA students continuing on there with their PhD, and there is little coursework offered at the PhD level within the department (though you must have 54 hours ( Read more... )

What do you know about the NYU Studies in the Ancient World program? I haven't really looked into that one.

I'm most interested in the wider expanse of interests and overlap into the various specializations as I'm interested in almost everything. They weren't accepting applications last year or it would have been on my list, but they are this year!

I especially like the ties that many of the core faculty have with Greek and Roman Egypt since I'm interested in not just the archaeology of the Eastern provinces (Egypt being one of those main interests), but the social and economic impact they have on Rome and vice versa.
