Good morning!

It's just about 3 am and I'm sitting by my newborn daughter's crib listening to her snort because for some reason she's congested. We've got a humidifier running in her room already. You may already know to check into it, but do the hospitals there have breast feeding support groups? Around here they're usually weekly. I know they've done wonders for a lot of women who weren't having a great experience. But remind yourself you're giving her what she needs ... Your love and care and food in whatever form. The first few weeks were the absolute hardest, physically and emotionally. Wish I could be there for you in some way.

baby's gotta eat, with or without guilt... but if you need breastfeeding help, does your hospital have a lactation support line or drop in group? or lactation consultants you can schedule to see? or are there IBCLCs in your area who can come to the house? that's even better... they can sit with you for an hour or two and help you experiment with different positions and accessories to get things going. if you let me know where you are i can ask the IBCLCs on my facebook if they know someone in your area.

also do you have a cosleeper? then you can get into bed and when she wakes you can pull her in with you to nurse and/or get a bottle.

congratulations on your baby! she's gorgeous according to facebook :)

Amazing! Welcome Deepat Maggie! I'm thrilled for you and your family. I'm not on FB so I missed the news, but lu_shines told me - hope that was okay. These first weeks and months definitely warrant a Mommy Merit Badge - especially for having a toddler in tow! Ted should get on that.

Happy belated birthday! I'll plan a visit this month, if you could use some help and company.

Xoxo
