The 19 hour trip home, aka textbook definition "Murphy's Law"

So...As some of you know, I've in the grad school interview process...Most recently, I was in Boston as one of four finalists for a position as MM candidate in Orchestral Conducting. I really enjoyed working with Hoose. The atmosphere was very casual, non-threatening, but he had a really great sense of musicianship. I watched him rehearse the last movement to Shos. 5 - it was good stuff. The Orchestra was pretty decent, about on par with top notch public university orchestras, but slightly below northeast conservatory orchestras. His focus seems to be more about teaching conducting through musical interpretation and score reading than as a stick technician, so depending on what you're looking for, that may or may not work for you. Personally I'd really enjoy going there, and I'd recommend it.
