Bill adjusted his black turtleneck and checked himself out in the mirror.
"You look good."
He glanced to the side with an unassuming smile. "Thanks."
Bill heard a dramatic gasp. He turned and saw Leoben's shocked stare.
"Admiral Adama!" Leoben covered his mouth.
"Oh, shit," D'Anna sighed, rolling her eyes. "Here we go."
"You went to another Cylon for fashion advice?" Leoben's voice wavered. "I was so good to you!"
"You dressed me like a circus clown," Bill growled.
Leoben sniffled, wiping his cheek. "Do you know what this is, Bill Adama? It's a tear. You made a Cylon cry."

"Two Roads Diverged" - season 4 when Ellen returned to Galactica
Characters: Laura/Ellen
Laura found Ellen in the XO's quarters, alone. They stood hesitantly in front of each other.
"Seems things have changed a little," Ellen said, raising an eyebrow.
Laura felt immediately self-conscious, her cheeks heated. "Some have, some haven't."
"You look good." Ellen's eyes traveled her body. "Better."
"And you look alive."
Ellen laughed bitterly. "Oh, Laura. Saul killed me. Did you know that?"
Laura felt the prickle of tears and resisted them, clenching her jaw and staring into Ellen's eyes. "Bill told me everything."
Ellen nodded, then leaned in closer.
"I won't tell him anything," she whispered, kissing Laura's cheek.

"After Philadelphia" - one year later
Pairing: Mulder/Scully
Note: this is longer than 100 words, but half of it's from the episode dialogue, so I took some liberty.
He treads lightly, in slow motion. She is not herself.
Be careful.
"Scully, what are you doing here?"
"You were right about her, Mulder."
She's got a gun. I was right about her, oh shit, oh fuck, oh…
"Scully."
"She's making me do this."
The click of the hammer echoes loudly in the silence that surrounds them.
"Where is she?"
"She's here. Mulder, make her stop. I can't help myself."
Come on, put it down…
"Linda Bowman!"
He sounds desperate; he doesn't care.
"Mulder make her stop."
How do I…fuck, how do I…
"Show yourself!"
"Mulder…"
Don't shoot, don't shoot…
He pleads as she falls. He is the hunted, twisted in this trap; his death unfolds in front of him.

"The Heat Is On" - one month later
Pairing: Laura/Bill
She has finally returned to this spot by the stream. It seems like it's been years, but it's been merely a few weeks. The day is greyer, the clouds denser. She blames the dismal weather on the occupation and not the change of season; it's hard for her to separate any suffering from what seems to be the root cause of most of it.
She settles on a log by the rushing water, nudging her toe against the smooth pebbles alongside it. She can still hear his laughter, her laughter… their rare, beautiful indulgence.
Where are you?
It's too soon.

Pairing: Laura/Bill
"I want to hear you." His voice is more demanding than usual. A swirl of heat stirs in her belly at the sound. She moans softly into the receiver as she touches herself, thinking of him.
"You are hearing me," she responds on a breath.
"No," he says, "I'm so frakking hard for you, Laura, and I want to hear you."
She bites her lip, her body throbbing at his suggestion.
Lifting her blanket, she slides the phone underneath, her hand shaking as she holds it between her legs and slides her fingers deep inside herself, wondering how it sounds.

"Heavy in Our Hands" - the next time they are alone
Pairing: Sharon Rayor/Will Pope
There's devious mirth in being so risky; Sharon chuckles as she slides into the backseat of the squad car. Not the most romantic of locales, but…
"At least it'll be easy cleanup," he growls as he slides in on top of her, his weight comforting and heavy. Her suit slides on the plastic surface, static tingling and snapping.
She kisses him and hikes one heeled foot up on the back of the seat. Her fingers slide over the smooth skin of the back of his head as their tongues tangle.
"I'm ready to be booked," she murmurs against his lips.

She walks into Bill's quarters, kicking off her heels. She doesn't look at him as she sheds her clothes for the second time in a matter of hours.
"I'm going to shower."
She knows he'll follow; it's their respite. Steam and streams of water can hide tears.
Her head lowered, she's listening to the drumming of the water on her bare scalp when she feels his chest press against her back.
"I love you," she whispers.
His arms slip around her waist. She stands still, upright until she can't, her sobs mounting.
He's the only thing keeping her from falling.

She's deliberately doing things to irritate him.
First, she left her shoes in the middle of his floor--he doesn't mind her barefoot, but when she leaves them there he will, at some point, trip over them. She always smiles.
Then, she tapped her pen against the desk as she was reading over reports. Tap, tap, tap...
She seemed to tap it harder when she noticed his irritated sigh.
So finally, late in the evening, he grabs her on her way to the head and pushes her against the wall, covering her protest with his mouth.
Revenge tastes so sweet.
