BSG Porn Battle Recs : My Favorites.
I've been meaning to do this for awhile, but I wanted to make a list of my favorite fics from the bsg_pornbattle Version 2.0. So this is a list of recs, sort of for my reference, but if you're looking for some good sexy fic and you don't have time to go through the ten pages of posts at the battle, these are the stories I'm particularly fond of, and maybe you'll like them, too.
But first... highly recommending bibliodragon's Laura Roslin/Dana Scully picspam. The parallels are astounding, as is the hot. Go. Go Now.
The way these are listed is as follows: Title, Pairing, Prompts. The good thing about porn battles is that these stories tend to be short, so you can read more of them. ;)

A Carton of Smokes for Your Love, Adama/Roslin, sunburn by dashakay makes me wish I was a tube of sunburn relief lotion, and I've never wished to be one of those before. Beautiful New Caprica fic and I love that the both of them, for once, have nothing better to worry about than the condition of Laura's skin.
Coming Over Like Mist Becoming Rain, Laura/Bill, night, hope, whispers, while the children are asleep by multicolour is endearing and understated and lyrically written. I love moments in which Bill and Laura can let their guards down completely.
that dress looks good on you, Bill/Laura, borrowed clothes (on Laura) by leiascully answers the age-old question, "What would Laura look like wearing Bill's fleet tanks?" The answer? lajsdlfjasdl;jfalsdjflasjdf;lsajdflsadjfl;sajdf.
Post-Coital, Laura/Bill, ambrosia by redsmirch is actually fan art but if you're into A/R, um... you should look at this picture. Crazy hot. It almost...nearly...makes me think Bill is sexy. Ngh!
It’s Not Cheating If They Leave You, Saul/Laura, substitutes, missing bill, second best explores the complicated relationship of Bill's two closest friends through an encounter on New Caprica. I can actually see this happening, and lindsey_grissom's Saul is stunning as he consummates this relationship with Laura, and the portrait of Laura's desperation as painted through his eyes is beautiful as it is tragic.
Something Real, Laura/Tom, Don't kiss me by nnaylime is angsty as hell, beautifully written, dark, and something I could actually buy happening. And it's frakked up and desperate and all that stuff I adore in a story.
Cold Comfort, Bill/Kara, regret, the taste of the Adama men takes one of the fandom's most bizarre and unimaginable pairings and makes it completely, utterly realistic...not only realistic, but beautiful, tragic, and emotionally ragged. And who wrote it? tjonesy, of course. I think she's one of the few who can actually pull this off.
Power Corrupts, Laura Roslin, five minutes, Gaius Baltar by coffeesuperhero is a Laura solo fic in which she ... ruminates on Gaius Baltar. I don't really think I need to explain why I love this fic, but it's gorgeous, real, and OMG!WTF!Hot.
Shell Shocked, Laura/Sam, again, still alive by i_am_davnee is a follow-up to her first Laura/Sam New Caprica fic (War Crimes) and it's hot...hot...hot...and oh yes, even more important than that, it's completely realistic, especially set in the hellhole that was NC. Davnee writes in such delicious detail that I can literally picture what's happening, and that literal picture is so damn sexy, yet tragic.
Holy, Holy, Holy, Laura/Caprica, in God's image by runawaynun is a breathtaking, religious/sexual experience through Caprica's eyes as she's lost in a complicated encounter with Laura. It's short, but it's gorgeous.
Checking the King, Laura/Adar, control by trickalicious78 is a brilliant concept hotly executed. Truly, Laura pwns all. And did I mention it's hot? I've thought this one over a bit.
Temporary Sanctuary, Cottle/Laura, New Caprica tent, save me by crushing83 took a difficult pairing and made it hearbreakingly sweet, delicate, and sad. It's peaceful amid turmoil, and it makes me ship them. Just a tiny bit. Only on NC.
The Woman’s Guide to Adultery, Laura/Ellen, stay away from my husband by lindsey_grissom, because honestly, the world needs more of two absolutely gorgeous women frakking the heck out of each other because they're angry at each other for getting on each other's men. Word.
Mrs Robinson, Laura/Lee/Sean, "A Night at the Bar" by ddagent is, well, it's frakkin' dirty as hell. Damn. But I love it so much and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I kind of love the idea of Laura picking up two hot young guys, who just so happen to be probably two of the hottest guys in the Twelve Colonies, and taking them home. You go, pre-attack Laura. The night is young, and so are you.
Common Reaction, Laura/Sean, pyramid court by meryl_edan is a hot angry locker room encounter that kind of made me die a little inside. I love the idea of Sean and Laura having a history beyond what we saw in Daybreak, and angsty bench secks is FTMFW.
Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Mary/Eddie, polyamory is RPF, but it's RPF of the completely believable, IMO, respectable sort, with a simple idea that allows for things to happen that normally might not, and might I mention that it's written by dashakay, which means it is hot as all frak without being "My eyes are burning!" porny. I love this. A lot.
Fan Frak Day, icedteainthebag/the entire BSG cast: stamina by coffeesuperhero... okay, I'm sorry, but I couldn't NOT link to this one. It's not just because it features me, in a roundabout way, frakking my favorite BSG actors/actresses, but the way it's written is so bitingly funny and downright hilarious that it's really a joy to read. At least for me. And Mary and James FTW.
Untitled, Lance the cat, Damn all these people do is frak by puszysty is Galactical frakking through the eyes of a roaming Lance (Romo's cat). Three things I love: Galactica, frakking, and Lance, all in one fic. Lance pwns all. The end.
