There's a giant Black Widow Spider living on my porch right next to the sliding door. It's huge. I guess it's fairly passive and most likely won't bite my cats when they go out on the porch, but it still creeps me out

Well, luckily it usually doesn't bother people and you'll know if it bites you (unlike the Brown Recluse) so you get medical treatment in time.

Last night, Eric found a Hobo spider (a type of funnel spider) on the inside screen door - there's a gap in the center in between the screen and window parts - and that was scary. They are very aggressive with little provocation, it tried to bite Eric when he scooped it up in cup to put it back outside.

Because of that, Eric called the housing people and they sent someone out to spray the porch and they're going to send someone to see about the gap.

Wow! I'm glad Eric's ok. And I'm very glad the housing people are fixing the arachnid problem.
