Who would have thought?

Game 7 for me is by far the greatest baseball I have ever seen in my life. Who would have thought that a batter who has not been producing all year, who has been in a slump this postseason, (barely scraping by with two base hits) could, off the first pitch of Wakefield, hit the game winning homerun for the NY Yankees?? It is unfuckenbelievable. ( Read more... )

i honestly don't even know where to start. i think my first comment after Boone's GAME WINNING HOME RUN OFF THE FIRST PITCH says it all: "Aaron-FUCKING-Boone?!?!?!?!?" That was without a doubt the greatest game of baseball i've ever seen. There are a thousand things i could point out about the game from a technical or historical view, but for now, i just want to sit back, and bask in that Bronx Bomber glow...

God bless those nerve-wracking, mind-numbing, beautiful, MAGNIFICENT bastards we call the Yankees...

Turning point of the game: runners on 1st and 3rd, nobody out, Mussina comes in and gives up no runs.

Smartest/stupidest man alive: Jason Giambi for knowing/thinking the game wasn't over and hitting 2 homeruns.

Legend: Mariano Rivera for going 3 innings for the first time since Sept. 1996, and giving the Red Sox nothing to hit.

Transformation: Aaron Boone, from a stiff do nothing mistake, to a hero and Yankees legend by hhitting the unhittable Wakefield and the dreaded knuckleball.....welcome to the club Booneeee.

There is something special about being a Yankees fan, and there is nothing like a game 7. I think we all felt the pressure and the intensity, and saw one, if not thee greatest baseball game of our time. GO YANKEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
