this is for real folks, this guy hard coded the light sequence into a computer controller or light board instead of a very hard dynamic process based on sound pattern processing on the fly (meaning you could use any song) but it's still way way awesome and hard to do

MIDI controller. If you've ever been to a big concert you've seen these sort of controllers at work.

I think this one is an 80 channel system and cost about 10k or so.
