R.E.M.

Went to see R.E.M. last night, a great concert. Good mix of old and new songs, but their last album was well represented. Growing up where I did with one TV station and one radio station, I wasn't exactly overexposed to indie or alternative music. Thus my first encounter with R.E.M. is as late as Loosing My Religion in '91, but they soon became one ( Read more... )

I would love to see R.E.M. in concert. Thats a great set list. Really pulled from their whole career.

Cool stuff. The one time I saw REM live was right at the end of their 2005 tour and they were obviously tired and not quite into it. It only really came to life when they did Everybody Hurts. Hope to see them on better form one day.

Editors are an exceptionally good band, definitely my favourite band of the last few years. Their first two albums, The Back Room and An End Has a Start, are both excellent.

Cool. My friend from uni saw them (presumably on the same tour) a couple of weeks ago in London.

I went to see them when they were in London last week (was going to post about it but was too tired). They were very good, the tracklisting was fairly similar to what you got, although we got Disturbance at the Heron House (which was excellent), Exhuming McCarthy (lots of stuff from Document), Perfect Circle (I'm not surprised you didn't get this since Michael completely messed up the vocals on his first attempt at this and had to restart) and Country Feedback instead of Wolves, Lower, Animal and AMMB.

Editors were pretty good as well, although I still think they're maybe a bit samey. They do a great cover of R.E.M.'s "Orange Crush" as well (although they didn't play that at the weekend).
