Pipe somewhere under the house (?) is apparently clogged because anytime we run water in any sink or bathtub, or flush the loo, it backs up into our utility room.  :(  Dino currently on the phone with the water utility, but we may need to get a plumber in.  So much for my savings account

I'll chime in a "Hell!" I feel that pain! Some moron who owned the house before we did planted a Quaking Aspen tree right next to the house, and that darn thing proceeded to thread its roots all through the plumbing. I doubt whoever planted it had to deal with the fallout, but we sure did! X(

Thanks for the empathy. We were lucky and the pipes just needed to be cleaned out really well. No damages, roots, or collapses detected. So we got off relatively inexpensively.
