Ok, so... it looks like Comic-con is a bust for me this year. I went to my supervisor, request in hand, only to find out that YESTERDAY, they put up signs saying 'No Vacations during this time frame'... sigh
That's kind of the point. A company cannot deny reasonable request for time off without a compelling business reason. If there's already too many scheduled, then it's a compelling reason. Otherwise, they're in violation of federal labor laws. Not that this would be anything new (for any large chain).
