Same As It Never Was Script (In Progress)

Jun 25, 2010 10:05

To prove there's enough canon for Same As It Never Was AU!Mike (SAINW!Mike) to be appable in RPGs, I'm writing out this script. I'm also doing it to record the detailed information about this episode AND to understand the relationships between the characters. There's more than enough information to describe the setting here as well--as this was an original setting, there was a TON of worldbuilding done, and they're showing it off.

Still have about four more minutes of action to go, then editing. It's been about an hour per minute.

[Scene 1: Intro]

[The episode begins with a shot from sidewalk level of New York City. It is dark and pouring, and the sidewalk has a gigantic puddle running through it. It's dark--so very, very dark. Light will be scarce in this story.

Everyone is hunched over, wearing nondescript trenchcoats or jackets, an umbrella here and there. No one smiles. Everyone's face is thin. We see one man's face in particular, just like the others--

Karai's voice is suddenly overheard a PA System. The man looks up, his mouth opening just slightly but the depression remaining.]

Karai: Attention, servants of the Shredder. [The camera angle changes. Everyone is looking up at three giant screens with the Foot symbol up on the faces of three different building. Smoke from four different smoke stacks billows in the background skyline.] Your Lord and Master will now address you.

[The face of Shredder replaces the symbol. It is static, unmoving.]

Shredder: For those of you still living-- [Camera switch. Now it's up high, just above another screen to the right. A screen further back is on the left. Grungy, buildings weith broken windows or holes, one half-started. A blimp passes towards the camera view.] under the illusion [The camera pans up to smoke stacks, then utrominators flying over the city and past a smoke stack, firing burning, in the front left.] that you will have freedom, know this:

[Camera switch, ground level, a skull featured prominently at the bottom of the screen with one more behind it on either side. Karai Legions walk across a field of dirt and rocks, machine gun arms blazing. Utrominators cover the red skies, dark clouds of billowing smoke behind them that fills half the visible skies.] My armies have exterminated the last pockets of resistance,-- [A Karai Legion steps on the first skull, crushing it and sendign the shards into the air.]

[Camera switch to the skies. Utrominators slowly fly past, machine guns blazing.] --and I now control the entire planet.

[Camera switch to a lab with a dark but unmistakenably Utrom design. We can see Utroms in exosuits working, One is in the usual hovercraft-like machine that they use to move around which hovers through the front of the screen and towards the back. What is also noticeable is the masked guards in trenchcoats training guns on them.] The traitorous Utrom scientists I've captured are--

[Camera switch. We see a gigantic transmat with blue fire, soldiers and tanks slowly moving towards the middle where the transmat device is.]

completeing a collosal transmat device. With it, I will send forth my armies and enslave the stars, one world after another. [Switch. Back to the first scene with three gigantic screens.] There is no hope. There is only the Shredder. [As he stops speaking, people start walking again.]

Karai: Remember, the Shredder is always watching.

[And that, folks, sets up the scene. That's also the first fifty seconds.]

[Being skipped here is the scene where Ultimate Draco comes into the lair and uses the time sceptor to send the turtles and Splinter to different times and places. It doesn't set the scene for the future.]

[Scene 2: The Lair Destroyed.]

Donatello: [As he is teleported from his world to this one, he falls shell first.] Ahhhhhhh! [He crashes down on a relatively intact part of the lair surrounded by debris, the impact sending up a cloud of dust that obscures him.

As the dust clears, he pushes against the ground with his hands, holding his bo, and then uses the force to flip back onto his feet. Don twirls his bo, then stops, holding it in one hand at the ready, his eyes going wide and his mouth dropping open in the same movement.]

[Camera switch. It pans across the great room of the lair, which is now utterly destroyed. While the overall structure of the place still stands, the heart of it is... gone. The bridge across the water is destroyed. The columns are damaged and the walkways are crumbled. There's steel rebar strewn everywhere as well as ductwork and other hunks of metal. Broken stone. Parts of the walls missing.]

Donatell: ... Master Splinter? [Shouting out so that his voice echoes, Don looks around.] Master Splinter?! [He drops his stance, turning around.] Leo?! Raph?! [He turns around, and we can clearly see his face. He's worried.. and scared.] Mikey?! [He's quiet for a moment, then shrugs widely and helplessly.] Anybodyyyy?!]

[Scene fades out.]

[Scene 3: The Warehouse and the Welcome Wagon.]

[The scene opens to an inside wall of the destroyed warehouse. More ductwork and rubble. There's a slab--that was quite possibly a door one time--blocking an entranceway were some mediocre light spills out.]

Donatello: Uuuuuggggyaah! [He comes into view as he shoves the slab over forcibly with both hands, where upon it hits the ground loudly and brings up dust. Donatello walks over--camera switch--then into the warehouse. The first Battle Shell, in the background, is destroyed, the front half the only thing really visible. In the foreground is Raph's Shell Cycle.] The entire lair is trashed. Even the warehouse. .... Huh? [Don stops in front of the Turtle Tunneler for a moment, which is sitting on some debris so that its at an angle with the front higher.] The Tuneeler still looks like it's in one piece. [He starts to walk again, towards the front.] But this feels like it's been abandoned--

[Camera switch to the front of the warehouse. There are holes of various sizes in the walls, more rubble. Some crushed cars. The fence is partially or completely flattened in places.]--for a long time. [He steps through the hole in one of the warehous'se cargo doors.] None of this makes any sense. [There's the view of a sparse factory that's out in the open next to it. A generator. Some machine parts. He continues walking, then comes to a halt and looks up as he hears the sounds of a helicopter. He grits his teeth.]

[Camera switch to behind Donatello, looking up. A black helicopter with a spotlight comes into view. One camera switch to just under the spotlight, and another to just over Donatello, who shields his eyes. The wind generated by the helicopter blade whips the tails of his bandana around. Papers scatter.] Uuughh-uuhhh!

[And once again, the camera switches to behind Donatello. Three cars, heavily armored and from three different angles, are rolling in towards Donatello. His hands are on his head now.]

PA System: Attention Citizen. Place your-- [Camera Switch. The same type Enforcers in masks that were seen earlier get out of the car being focused on. They have rifles, which they point through the crack of the opened doors while hiding behind the windows.] hands in the air and drop your weapons. [They get out the rest of the way as the camera switches to behind one guard. Then, it switches to Donatello, who lowers his hands from his face.] Repeat: Hands up and drop your weapons! [Donatello's eyes are growing wide in fear as he grits his teeth. He puts his hands up.]

[The Enforcers move closer to him in a V-pattern, five of them. And slowly point and arm their rifles as they move closer.

But as they move closer, Donatello catches sight of the ensignia on their left upper arms--the symbol of the Foot--and his eyes widen for a moment. His expression changes from one of fear to stubborness as he looks back and forth for a moment before pulling out his bo.

He won't surrender to the Foot.

They move closer. And closer until only their feet can be seen. But they suddenly come to a halt as something comes into their way. Three shuriken, thrown from up above. The men look down at them, then up to the--]

PA System: On the roof! [The spotlight finally swings off Donatello and behind him, up the wall and to the roof. A dark figure is there. Half the warehouse seems to missing.] Get a light on him! [The camera is behind the figure's leg, cloaked in darkness. The spotlight moves up to blinding.] Fire! [The figure starts to jump away, and the spotlight shifts as the helicopter continues moving] Open fire!

[All the Enforcers (there's seven of them, now) open fire, and the helicopter tries to keep up with the figure as he runs across the remaining part of the roof, only managing to keep with him halfway through the run. When he reaches the edge of the intact part, he jumps down, and is lost for a moment.

Donatello stares in surprise, holding onto his bo, not knowing what to think.

The figure jumps behind a half-wall of the warehouse, then dives through the broken passenger window of a car, all the while being fired at. The men stop shooting to run past Don, who just stares. They start firing with a vengence at the body of the car as they rush up to it, riddling it with holes. Two jump onto the car, one on the hood, one on the trunk, and riddle the body with bullets.

They stop when they realize the car is empty. The camera pans back, and two more Enforcers can be seen standing near the passenger side of the car. The one on the hood kneels down to get a better look.

He finds out the car isn't so empty--the hood underneath him is shoved up and he goes flying, slamming into his compatriate on the trunk, and they both fall.

The hood comes up the rest of the way and the figure jumps out, flipping around once in mid-air as he comes down towards the other two Enforcers.

Nunchaku to disarm. Two legged kick to the chest, push off. First one, down. Same nunchaku to disarm, kick to the head. Second is down. A third is firing. The same nunchaku wraps around the gun, then releases to hit him in the face. The third runs.

Camera switch. Donatello stares. The figure slides into view, partially crouched, nunchaku swinging as the spotlight tries to catch him again.]

Donatello: [His eyes are wide as can be, his mouth dropped open, hands still firmly around his bo.] Mikey?

[The man hit falls backwards inside the empty hood of the car. A second follows. The third near the hood pulls out a katana--the nunchaku disarms him, breaking the katana in two before he can even hold it properly, and he's swiftly elbowed backwards into the hood, which the figure shuts closed with a hit from his nunchaku. Shuriken to close: ~40 seconds.

He slides his nunchaku back into the holster on his right side. He only used one this entire time.

THe spotlight comes back onto him. He backflips, grabbing a rifle in the process, lands in a crouch while he charges the laser rifle, and opens fire on the three armored but empty vehicles. They explode, one after another.

The helicopter gets a spotlight on him again. Rifle is moved to point at it, firing once more. Smoking and damaged, the copter moves sideways, losing propeller control as it loses altitude. It expodes behind a building.

The figure drops the gun. Twenty-Eight Seconds more.]

Donatello: [He approaches the figure--Mikey--and is smiling.] Mikey! Am I glad to see you you!

Mike: [A long pause.] So... It's really you. [He steps out of the shadows. First thing visible: left arm, missing. He's expressionless, face stone cold. Older, scarred.] You came back.

[Scene 3, fade out.]

[Scene 4, Broken Reunion]

[The scene fades back in. Aerial view, which quickly zooms in towards Don and Mike. Camera switch to behind Don with a full view of Mike.]

Donatello: [Leaning forward, his voice full of horror.] Mikey, your... [Camera switch to see the horror on his face.] your arm! [Camera switch. Just Mike in the view, unmoving.] What happened to your arm?!

Mike: [Completely ignoring that question, immediately points towards Don with his remaining hand.] You're the one that's got some questions to answer. [Camera switch. Don is slowly moving closer closer, one hand protectively near his plastron as Mike drops his arm and continues to talk.] Where in the shell--[Don leans back, a bit aways from Mike. He looks taller than his brother.]--have you been all these years?

Donatello: [Donatello still has his arm up, but he leans forward and assumes a less threatened stance before his arm drops completely. He looks confused, pained.] All these years? [The arm goes up again just in time, as--]

Mike: [Brings his hand up to poke at Don's plastron.] You've been gone over thirty years, Donatello.

Donatello: [Unbelieving, confused, and it shows on his face.] Thirty years? [He starts to shake his head.] It can't be....

Mike: Can be and is. [A slight shake of his head.] We thought you were dead. [There's a momentary pause, and the emotionless expression is gone, replaced by anger. He leans towards Donatello, forcing the other turtle back.] How in the shell could you just abandon us like that?!

Donatello: [An unhappy frown, followed by a shaking of his head.] I didn't. I could-- [His expression changes to stubborn determination, without doubt, but it's slowly replaced by confusion once more.] --never abandon you guys. [He looks to his left, confused.] One minute, we were all in the lair together. [He turns to look the other direction.] The next minute I woke up--[he shrugs.] --here. [He continues speaking as he brings up his left hand to his head in confusion.] I don't know how.

Mike: [He smirks. It's a bit like the devious grin he wore as a teenager, but far too bitter.] So, the turtle with the big brain finally doesn't have all the answers. {He shakes his head, still grinning like that.] Who'da thunk it. [The smirk is gone, the expressionless face returning. He puts his hand up, pointing lightly at Don while keeping his arm close to himself. He steps back into the shadows, dropping his arm.] But we can't talk here. [Completely in the shadows, he turns, heading towards the hole in the warehouse wall next to them while looking at Don.] C'mon.

Donatello: [He says nothing, hesitating for a moment before starting to follow.]

[Scene 5: Mike's 30 year recap.]

[The scene opens to a view of the city from roof level. Pollution and smoke stacks spewing out fire, buildings, some still mostly standing and others not, dot the landscape. There's a sky scraper with sloped Japanese tiled roof. The foot Emblem is across the front.

Mike, followed closedly by Donatello, leads his brother through the landscape.

Camera switch, street view. More armored cars patrol the streets, spotlights pointed towards the upper parts of the buildings, shining through broken and unbroken windows alike.

The camera pans up to rooftops and two lines of Utrominators--three wide each--going across the sky, a blimp with wide screen and PA system attached flying underneath them.

The two turtles slip past them all, jumping across from one building to the next. They start climbing the tallest building farthest right.]

Karai, via PA: Serve the Shredder; he is your Lord and Master.

[Camera switch to a different streetview, looking down a street. Now more lines of utrominators can be seen, as well as many, many more screens with the Shredder's face on them. It has a suspiciously similar shape to Times Square.

Mike and Donny are hiding behind the edge of squat barrier wall with a camera attached. Mike leads the way just after an Enforcer car passes, rushing towards a grated steam vent. Mike takes the short way around it, but Don takes the long way so that they're both blocked from view by the steam.

Mike crouches, camera switch to the view of the great and Mike's legs, and pulls out his nunchaku, sliping it between the bars of the grate.

Camrea switch as he lifts it up, Don half-crouching and leaning forward as he watches Mike.]

Don: Where are we going, Mikey?

Mike: [He finishes putting the grate aside just as Don finishes talking, and the camera switches. There's a start of a smile--his version of one--on his face, so fleeting that it's almost impossible to catch. His expression goes blank again.] I'm taking you to Master Splinter. [He carefully braces himself with his good arm, then slips lis lower legs into the grate, Donatello speaking as he does so.]

Don: Are Leo and Raph with him? [He leans forward some more, arms out away from his sides. He sounds confused or perhaps worried. None of this makes any sense....]

Mike: [He glances back up at Donatello.] You kiddin'? Leo and Raph aren't--[He shakes his head quickly, a quick flash of anger on his face.]--with anybody--[His eyes narrow more.]--anymore. [He looks away as he finishes speaking, then slips through the steam vent.]

Don: ... Huuuuuuuuh? [Donatello straightens, then drops into the opening after Mike.]

[Camera switch. Technically another scene, but, fuck it. It's the edge of Central Park, with the usual screens of Shredder's face (with shoulders attached this time!) and a Shredder statue in what looks like a broken down fountain. With dead trees. And more lines of Utrominators. And smoke stacks, with none surprisingly on fire as viewable from this angle.]

Karai: [Over PA system as the camera pans.] Beware what you do. The Shredder is watching. Always watching.

[A manhole cover is quietly set aside. Donatello emerges first, putting his knees on the pavement.]

Donatello: Where are all the people? [Sounding confused. Probably one of the millions of questions he's asked Mike so far. He slowly stands.]

Mike: [Emerging behind Don, then beginning to run towards the right side of the screen with him, then jump over some stone.] You mean the ones that survived? [Camera switch to them running through what's probably Central Park.] They're forced to work eighteen hour days in the Shredder's labor camps. No one's allowed at night. [And Don's gritting his teeth, obviously not happy with this situation.]

[Camera switch to behind some dead bush next to a tree. There's some living bushes in the background, surprisingly. Not many. Mike walks into the camera view and kneels behind the the dead shrub, pulling some branches down with his good hand.]

Donatello: [Walking into view, reaching out to perhaps--perhaps--touch Mike's back. He stays decidedly on Mike's right side, even though the left would be better for cover. Don kneels very closely behind his brother, not able to see Mike grit his teeth as he asks his next question.] What happened between Leo and Raph?

Mike: [Slowly turns his head in Don's general direction, but not completely.] Let's just say that they got in a big fight--[He pulls the hand away from the branches so that they move back into place, then begins to stand. Donatello's eyes widen.]--a long time ago. [Don stands after him, staying closer behind.]

Donatello: [They're running again, Don following Mike. Donatello stops suddenly, and seems to almost fade out, outlined in light blue. He looks back and forth.] What in the shell? [He solidifies completely again. Donatello shakes his head, eyes closed, and then grimaces for a moment before running after Mike once more. The fact that he doesn't make Mike stop to wonder what just happened...]

[They walk now. Must be close to where Mike's bringing them. There's a bit more greenery now.]

Mike: When you never came back, Donny, well... [He glances at his brother, who's again at his right side.] everything just... fell apart. We were a --[Donatello's mouth drops open and he stops walking. Mike stops just after, noticing this.]--team. [He glances forward. Camera switch, Mike looking forward, half behind a tree.] Without you-- [He slides sideways to hide behind it better.]--it just didn't work. [He pauses for a moment, then a camera switch happens to just behind him as he looks over his shoulder at Don.] Guess we really needed that level head of yours.

[Mike slips out from behind the tree as the camera switches to a ways in front of them. Don closely follows. They're walking into a clearing. Mike stops, his face expressionless as usual.]

Donatello: [He stops as well, very close to his brother, just behind Mike's right side. Don leans forward a little, turning his head partway so tha he can see Mike's expression. His hand is partway up, and his voice is questioning, a bit worried.] Master Splinter...?

Mike: [He turns to look at his brother, then looks forward towards the clearing, bringing up his hand to point towards it. Donatello straightens slightly.]

[Camera switch to behind a long, rectangular piece of stone sticking out of the ground, a cane resting against its side. The turtles are standing just outside a torn down part of a chain-linked fence, the skyline visible in the distance between the path in the trees.]

Mike: He's right over there....

[The camera switches to a view of the front of stone. Splinter's name is carved on it.]

Donatello: [He recoils, his eyes widening in horror.] No. [It settles for a moment, only for him to pass Mike to walk towards the grave.] Master Splint-[He falls to his knees in front of the grave, unable to stand anymore, catching himself on his hands.] -er is--? [His expression crumples, and then he leans forward, eyes closing as he brings his fist up and--Mike is walking up behind him, quietly--slams the side of it onto the ground in] Nooooooooooo!]

Mike: [He stops right behind Donatello, and for once, his face is not expressionless. Even around thirty years later, it still brings him visible grief.] Master Yoshi used to bring him here to the park, back in the day... [He glances to his left side, possibly checking to make sure they're not seen..] It's not the safest place-- [He turns back to look at his brother's back.] --but it's where Sensei wanted to be buried.

Donatello: [He turns to face his brother.] Ho... How?

Mike: [He knows the rest of that question without Donny saying it. He answers, his emotionless mask back in place.] A couple of years after--[He brings his hand up, palm upwards, as he speaks.]--you disappeared--[He brings his hand closer to his plastron, then moves it lower and away again.]--Master Splinter gave his life protecting--[His arm drops.]--the three of us.

Donatello: [He turns forward again, closing his eyes tightly.] I can't--[His eyes open. He turns to look at Mike. His expression is full of pain and grief.]--believe this place. It's all--[He turns to face the grave, and starts to stand on his last word.]--so horrible. [When he stands, eh starts to walk away from the grave.]

Mike: [Soft sound before he speaks.] You'll get used to it. [Donatello stops, then Mike speaks again.] Besides, what can you do? [Don's head goes up. His eyes are narrowed. Mike looks down as Donatello turns to look at him.] It's the way it--[Mike looks up to Don.]--is.

Don: [He turns his head away, looking up, and then shakes his head.] It's not the way it was. [He turns away from Mike a bit more, bringing his hand to his chin in thought.] Maybe I can't change the past,-- [His removes his hand and curls it into a determined fist.]--but that doesn't mean there isn't a way to change the present. [He moves his arms out from his body, gesturing. Mike looks at Splinter's grave as Don continues to talk.] We've got to face the Shredder,--[His hands curl into fists, and one elbow comes towards the ground forcibly.]--and take him down!

Mike: [Turning to Don.] Hehn. [It's dry, without humor. Donatello walks away, hands behind his back, thinking.] We tried. [His brings his up, palm up, as he speaks.] Too many times.

Don: [He slows to a stop, looking upwards.] We're going to try again,--[He turns to look over his shoulder.]--Mikey. [He turns slightly more and stands there.]

Mike: [He brings his arm up to gesture again.] You've got a plan? [No arguments. No hope, either, though.]

Don: [Approaching Mike.] I'm working on it,--[He brings both hands up to put on Mike's shoulders.]--but we're going--[He drops one hand, thinking better of it, and only puts his hand on the good arm's shoulder. Mike still jerks back a little. There's very little distance between them, again.]--to need Leo and Raph.

Mike: [Looks away for a moment.] That's a--[Don removes his hand.]--tall order, Donny. [He turns to Don, shifting his stance to face him more forwardly. His index finger goes up near Don's beak. He shakes it back and forth slightly.] But I think I know somebody that can help.

[Scene 6: Rebel Leader.]

[Scene opens to the outside of the crumbling and former New York Public Library. Camera switch to inside the building's ceiling where there is a giant, old chandelier. It slowly pans down to three library tables--the lights still glowing on them as people work on their computers(?) or papers--and a larget table that's likely the Map of New York City. There's plenty of book shelves, still filled with books, and debris.]

Man's voice: Resistance Team 7, this is Ops. Proceed to target.

[The first and only kid you'll ever see is walking across the screen to the woman standing at the table with her hands on it. Camera switch to a closer view in which he stops by the woman and stands at attention.]

Woman: [Glancing his way and picking up a piece of paper, holding it out to the boy.] Take this to Angel. Her commandos will have to destroy--[The boy takes the paper, both holding it for a moment.]--that fuel dump--[the woman lets the paper go.]--before it gets moved on Friday.

Boy: [He salutes her.] Yes, sir! [He drops his hand, then turns, walking off.]

[The woman returns back to the map, just as--]

Mike: [Calling out.] Yo, Rebel Leader! [The camera switches to just behind his and Donatello's legs. Donatello is on Mike's bad side for once.] Look at what the cat dragged in.

[The woman turns towards them, then walks over. We can see her face--an middle-aged woman with short brown hair and a bandana tied around her forehead, with green eyes and a slim figure--just before Donatello reacts.]

Don: [Face breaking out into a wide grin.] April?

April: [Blinking, arm up in shock.] Donatello! You came back! [Camera switch to closer behind Don. April looks surprised, then slowly closes her eyes and reaches out to him, wrapping her arms around his neck in a loose hug, smiling a bit.] Master Splinter always said you would. [Her eyes open as she continues talking.] Casey, too.

Don: [Smiling.] Where is Case, that big--[April lets go of Donatello and puts her hands on his shoulders instead, his smiling fading as he finishes speaking.]--bonehead?

[Mike raises his head and exchanges a quiet look with April. Donatello looks to his right and then back to April, who closes her eyes in grief.

Camera switch, slowly zooming in on a sepia-toned picture of Casey with a black ribbon draped across it.]

Baxter Stockman: [Camera switch. He speaks as a bulky person in a wheelchair rolls into the picture. He rolls behind the table that Mike and April are standing in front of.] Well, well, Donatello.

Don: [His eyes widen.] What the-- [His bo is out, and he points it towards the voice. The bottom of the wheelchair comes into view]

Baxter: Looking younger than ever. [The camera pans to show Baxter's brain and single eye in a jar attached to Hun's--an older, bolding Hun's--shoulder by tubes. Hun is the one in the wheel chair. They both are.] And how do we look? Just another one of the Shredder's apropo punishments. [A pause. The eye looks at his companion.] Don't be impolite, Hun. Say hello.

Hun: [Fixing the brain with an annoyed look before looking to Donatello, his face blank.] Greetings, Donatello.

April: Relax, Donny. [Walks up behind Don, pulling his shoulder back so he starts a little before putting her other hand on his bo and hand.] They're on our side. [She glances to them.] We saved them from being executed about five years back.

Hun: [Rolling his wheelchair up tot hem.] This life is worse. I wish I had been put out of my misery.

Baxter: And I wish you had been put out of my misery, you miserable misanthrope!

Donatello: [Walking to look at Casey's picture for a moment before turning to April, face determined, his hand balled into a fist near his chest.] April, there's got to be a way to end all this. [He turns towards her completely, putting his hands on his hips.] Can you get Leonardo and Raphael to meet me?

April: [With an uncertain expression on her face.] I can try.

[Scene 7: The Neighborhood Gossip.]

[THe sceen opens up outside of Shredder's palace. It looks like a fort with two tiers, the second smaller than the first. On the second is a large Foot emblem. There are few windows--defense. There are turrets, and likely other defenses. Surrounding it are plenty of destroyed, half-standing sky scrapers. One "factory" can be seen in the distance.

Inside the palace is a long corridor where the walls on either left or right only come up partway. There are supports that can be seen on the top half of these walls. Outside of the room is ductwork or pipes. This room in particular holds various artifacts, all or most asian, probably Japanese. There is a double door, golden with symmetrical dragons, one dragon on either door. Three steps lead up to it. In teh center of the floor is perhaps a gigantic tatami mat--and if it is, it is new, as it is still slightly green with the Foot emblem in the middle.

Karai walks down the center. She's older, but her face is as youthful as it has ever been. She has twin katana and basically her usual outfit. She comes up to the golden dragon doors and kneels down on one knee, one hand resting resting on her other knee.]

Karai: My Lord, I bring news.

Shredder: [The shadowed form behind the doors moves. We're seeing from the inside, only just the shadow. That... looks like a lot of blades and multiple arms. Speak, Karai.

Karai: Our Enforcers were involved in a skirmish near the turtles' old lair. Sensors have identified the attacker; it is the turtle, Donatello.

Shredder: So, the Prodigal son has returned. Excellent. I want Donatello's head brought before me, with or without his body.

[COMMERCIAL BREAK.]

[COMMERCIAL BREAK IS OVER.]

[Scene 8: Reunion.]

[The sceen opens up with the blimp going across the cityscape of New York. The smog seems to have possibly cleared. The full moon is visible. The camera zooms in, then switches.

It's the Rebel Base again, the top entrance to it. A green and scarred lower leg comes into view before flowing cloth obscures it. A scabbard can be seen.

The figure races forward after a long moment. We can only see its back, but we can see it has a single katana with a blue handle. Leonardo.

Camera switch to just inside the top part of the structure. Leo runs up to a hole in the wall, and we can see he is either wearing black tinted glasses or eye patches. His face is heavily scarred. He pauses for a moment, turns his head in one direction, and then jumps through the hole, backflipping and landing crouched with one hand on the floor. His left hand draws his blade, and he stands, holding it ready in front of him. He's wearing a long, black trenchcoat and partially fingerless gloves. All of his body is scarred. He has two belts around his waist, both with buckles, and a belt without visible buckle across his chest. He doesn't wear a ninja mask/bandana.

He's in a hallway with diagonal tiling making arrows on the floor. The walls have ornate molding as well as a good number of holes and rebar sticking out of them. They also have electric walll sconces, and the closest is hanging by the its electrical wires. Others have faired better and are still in place. There's a hole in the ceiling and plenty of rubble to go around.

Just behind Leo, through that hole in the ceiling, drops another figure in shadow, crouched with one hand touching the ground. Only one eye is visible. Leo grits his teeth as he reacts immediately, turning towards the sound of the other presence.

The figure shifts a bit and into the light, and we can see that it is Raph, older and battle scarred. His left eye is missing and his mask has that eye sewn shut. He's also wearing mostly fingerless gloves. His face is unscarred. He's wearing a brown leather jacket, and he's the only one who still wears the karate-style belts they used to.]

Raph: [Still crouched, voice angry.] What the shell are you doing here?

Leo: [Relaxing his sword a bit as Raph stands.] Raph? April's guys didn't say anything about you being here.

Raph: Oooooh, what's the matter, Leo? [He points a thumb towards his own face.] I remind [He drops his hand, starting to move towards Leo] ya how ya made us [Raising his arm back up, pointing towards Leo, bringing it back, and pointing it towards him again.] abandon Master Splinter [As he continues, his voice raises in anger, and he gestures angrily with his fist.] when he needed us [He shoves his finger onto Leo's plastron, although for a moment, it almost looked like he was going to punch him.] most?!

Leo: [Leans back and brings his sword up again, using that arm to brush Raph's arm away--except that Raph moves his arm just fast enough that Leo doesn't touch it. He returns the anger.] It's what he wanted, Raph,--[Grief comes across his face, and the fight goes out of him for a moment as he leans forward.]--to save us. [It's back, and he puts his hand up for a moment..] If we had--[He balls his hand into a fist momentarily, then sweeps it behind him.]--gone back there, we would have [He brings his hand forward again into a fist, shaking it] all been destroyed.

Raph: [Raising his finger to pointing at Leo, still angry.] We could have--[He pushes it against Leo's plastron again.]--saved him!

Leo: [Leans forward into Raph's face, even angrier than Raph. Raph's removes his finger.] You know we couldn't! [He brings up his index finger to press it against Raph's Plastron and coat. Raph growls in reaction as Leo speaks, winding up.] He was gone.

Raph: [Bringing his arms up.] No! [Raph shoves Leo back forcibly with one arm, much to Leo's surprise.]

Leo: [He stumbles back before catching himself.] All right, Raph. [bringing his sword back up.] I'm through talking! Let's settle this once and--[Bringing his katana up and behind his head.]--for all!

[Just as he brings his katana up, a bo comes into view and hits Leo in the stomach, knocking him right off his feet and off screen.

Raph watches in surprise, arms raising before his hands ball into fists, but he is knocked over by the same bo, which hits him in the top of his plastron and sends him flying right back onto his shell.

Leo sits back up, gritting his teeth and ready for a fight, except something changes his expression into one of shock, perhaps mixed with a bit of pain.

Similarly, Raph sits up as well, freezes for a moment, and then sits up the rest of the way, his eye going wide.]

Raph: Whaaaaaat.

Don: [Holding his bo in one hand. He looks to each of his brothers as he says their names.] Leo, Raph. We need to talk. [He puts his bo away, then offers them both a hand and a determined look.]

[Leo doesn't reach out for Don's hand, nor does he even seem to notice it. Don takes Leo by the upper arm, which seems to surprise Leo slightly, and pulls him up, looking to him. Raph takes his hand.

Both brothers stand with Don's help.]

Raph: [Staring at Don in disbelief] Donny? [Leo stands up the rest of the way. Raph starts to lean back.] No--[He throws himself forward, breaking into a wide grin as he hugs his brother, who just makes a good "wtf" face.]--way!

Leo: Donatello! [He's got a smile on his face, too.] You're back! [he tilts his head to one side.] I don't believe it!

[There's a quiet moment between the three. The hug has broken off sometime, but Don's hand is still on Raph. Mike and April approach the two from behind Raph.]

Mikey: [Note he was the only one that didn't smile when he first saw Don.] Believe it. [He stops near them, April following suite. He has that same emotionless-but-angry look on his face that he's had since the beginning.] And brainiac here wants to go up against the Shredder.

[Raph looks at Mike in surprise over his shoulder as Leo begins to speak. Don is quiet, still, expression determined.]

Leo: We've already tried it [Raph looks at Leo and Don.], Donny. [As he continues to speak, Donatello turns to him.] How do you think we lost Casey?

Raph: [He doesn't seem to react to that. Or forces himself not to. He brings up a hand as he talks.] The Shredder's--[Don looks at him.]--palace is surrounded by an army of Foot Police.

Leo: [As he starts to speak, Don looks at him.] And Utrominators.

Raph: [He steps and leans in closer to Don as he speaks.] And [He brings his finger up as Don turns to look at him, Don's facial expression remaining unchanged.] Karai--[As he finishes talking, he steps away and drops his hand.]--Legions.

Leo: [Shoulders sagging just slightly.] You can't even get inside to fight him.

Baxter: [Suddenly speaking, making everyone turn as Hun rolls them into the scene.] And if you could, you couldn't beat him. The shredder's new exo-suit is stronger than ever. I should know. I designed it.

Don: [gritting his teeth now.]

Leo: It's impossible. [Shaking his head.]

Raph: Can't be--[Brings his hand up again to speak.]--done, Donny. [Donatello straightens, blanking his expression as Raph drops his hand.] It's hopeless.

Don: [Bringing his hands up near his shoulders, sounding slightly angry or at least, stubborn.] I don't know what happened to you guys,--[He brings his hands into fists and lowers them.]--but the turtles--[He points at himself just under his neck.]--I knew believed that nothing was--[He shifts his hand back into a fist, squeezing it tightly.]--ever hopeless.

Don: [Putting his hands on Raph's and Leo's shoulders, his voice growing more desperate instead of angry.] Please. We can do this.

[Raph and Leo straighten, then turn to each other. Don looks between them. Mikey is in shot, just behind Raph (whom may even be smiling), his face his usual expressionless mask.

Raph is the first to offer his hand to Leo. Don turns to look at Leo, who offers his hand back. They meet and shake their hands, which immediately makes Mike's face break into a wide grin, almost like when he was younger. Don lets out a breath.]

Leo: [Glancing to Don, Don's arm still on his shoulder.] All right, Donny. We'll do it one more time. [Don lets his shoulder go as he leans forward just slightly.] But, please,--[He brings up a hand.]--tell me we have a --[He balls his hand into a fist.]--fighting chance. [He drops his arm.]

Don: I've been working up a plan. [He glances at Raph, or possibly behind Raph at Mike or April.] Do we have any hardware? Exo-suits? [He glances at Leo, shrugging his shoulders just slightly, voice questioning.] Anything?

April: [Her hand on her hip.] Well, we captured a Karai Legion--[She leans back towards Stockman for a moment, then straightens again.]--Bot that Doctor Stockman--[She gestures over her shoulder with a thumb.]--has been modifying.

Don: Good. That's a start. And there's--[Raph turns from looking behind him to look at Don again.]--something we'll need from the lair.

Raph: [Sounding confused.] The lair? [He half looks down for a moment, then looks up again.] It got wasted years ago.

Don: Not all of it.

[Scene 9: The Final Battle.]

[Utrominators cover the skies, flying past the moon and filling the screen. One Utrominator flies past so that we can see the Utrom inside of it, with a blank face and many wires going into him. ... Well, it's probably a guy Utrom, anyways.

Camera switch. They're all flying over Shredder's palace.

The scene switches to the same room as shown before, but higher up that shows there's a Foot emblem far above the golden doors. There's also a light shining above the golden doors. Fluorescents?

Karai approaches Shredder and bows (like a man. No, seriously. Women are supposed to put their hands in front when they bow!). Behind her is another emblem on a metal plate on the wall. We can see the doors she entered, or at least part of the hall. There are gears in housings (seen on edge) and chains on either side of the emblem's plate.]

Karai: Master. The Utrom slaves have finished building the Transmat. It will be operational in two hours.

Shredder: Excellent.

[As Karai straightens, the entire structure shakes, and suddenly dust and a bright, shining drill comes crashing through the floor behind her. She jerks, jumping around quickly to face the intruder.

It's the Turtle Tunneler.

That's right. Donatello's plan was to not fight the outer guards at all, but to use the Turtle Tunneler to go straight to the throne room!

HA.

She pulls out one of her katana as the Turtle Tunneler continues its dramatic entry.

Eventually, it settles enough that someone extends the stairs. There's a very long pause.]

Shredder: [Very angrily.] Who dares?

[In answer, Mike runs out to the door and jumps to the ground in a crouch, skipping the stairs entirely. His face is angrily determined. He jumps out of view. Leonardo follows to one side, jumping out of view, and then Raphael does the same. A few moments later, Donatello emerges in the modified Karai Legion, partially crushing a stair and causing it to sag as he does so.

Karai twists her blade so that the light catches it.]

Don: [Donatello's Karai Exo-suit jumps to the ground with a knee to the ground, and its claw embeds in the cement. He straightens its back slightly and pulls the claw away from the floor, and his brothers are around him.] Can the Shredder come out and play?

Shredder: So,--[Karai slashes her blade, then starts walking ot the side and forward as the golden dragon doors open.--the turtles have reunited. [He walks out in his own exosuit, which is gigantic with many deadly instruments; he pauses for a moment to pull all of these out. He wears a helmet like his old Shredder exosuit had. Four arms, with additional blades on his back. Lots of glowing red lights.] It is thirty years overdue,--[He starts walking forward again. The ground thunders when he walks.]--but I will finally put an end to your pathetic lives.

[The turtles don't move.]

Don: Shredder, [He uses his exo-suit to point at him.] your reign of terror is--[Exo-suit's fist clenches.]--over!

Karai: Legions,--[she points her katana at the turtles.]--attack!

[Karai legions come out from somewhere and run around in a circle to surround the turtles. Donatello turns his exo-suit partially around and grits his teeth.]

Karai: [Flanked by a Legion on either side.] Destroy them all!

[Those two Karai Legions draw twin katanas and jump into the fray. Karai's with claws and Karai's with saw blades also jump into the fight.

Which begins now.]

Donatello: [Activating the machine guns on the Karai Exo-suit's back, his voice full of emotion.] For Master Splinter! [They fire, tearing up Karai Legions. He coats the room with bullets, dealing a heavy first strike.]

[Two Karai Legions try to get him from behind, only for two missles to erupt outside the door of the Tunneler. April stands at the door, face set. She jumps down just like the turtles did and landign in a crouch, firing two more shots, one in either direction, and then running to the side.

One more person--or two, rather--emerge from the Tunneler. Hun thuds down the stairs in his wheelchair.]

Stockman: [Sounding very uneasy.] Hun, stop! What are you doing?! We're supposed to stay in the Tunneler!

Hun: [Ignoring Stockman, he rolls himself right up to Shredder.] Master! Please, take me back!

Shredder: What? [He's not happy to see Hun...]

Hun: I'll serve you! Pleaaaaase.] [Begging.]

Stockman: Hun! [Hun glances to him.] What are you doing?!

Shredder: Exterminating you two traitors [Raising up a foot] will be an added bonus to today's great victory. [The foot comes down.]

Hun: [Quietly. Aw, crud.

[Crunch.]

Shredder: Ha! [Grinning evilly.]

[Leonardo, Raphael, and Michelangelo are surrounded by a small group of Karai bots. There's several small fires around them now as well.]

Mike: [Looking over his shoulders at his brothers. He's swinging his nunchaku as he speaks.] C'mon! [Leo glances back at him.] We gotta buy Donny a little more time. Keep the bots--[He looks forward]--busy!

[The three of them separate, Mike being the last to jump away from their spot as he grabs both sides of his nunchaku in his hand before moving. They split up.

And therein lies their first mistake.

Mike rushes towards a Karai Legion and jumps at the last moment, spinning nunchaku colliding with her head as he grunts--one side, then the other. The Karai Legion recovers as he lands in a crouch, nunchaku on the floor for a moment. He stands and the bot readies her spear, jerking it down towards him with incredible speed.

But it's still not fast enough. He dodges it with a slight, just by the tail of his bandana, eyes and mouth wide for a moment as he stumbles and fights to right himself. He instinctively tries to balance himself with his partially missing arm, even after all these years.

He recovers quickly, gritting his teeth, crouching forward, leaning back a bit, and then throwing his arm forward so the chain of his nunchaku wraps around her arm with a--]

Mike: --Hyaaaah!

[The Legion tries to pull her arm away, but he twists around, keeping a firm grip of her, and then upends her over his shell, literally doing the splits as he uses the weight of his body. He stumbles a bit when he gets both feet on the ground again as he releases his nunchaku.

Karai Legions come running up behind him. He half turns, then whirls around completely before running forward, shouting as he takes on two more. He jumps over the first, springing off of the side of her head, and then kicking the other in her side of the head in practically the same motion--once, then turning around to hit her with the other leg. She goes down. He lands in a crouch, holding both sides of his nunchaku in his hand.

One knee is on the ground. He shifts backwards, preparing to stand again. Both knees and now his hand with nunchaku.

Karai Legions quickly surround him. He stands, one side of his nunchaku slipping from his hand as he holds onto the other. Mike looks around, then sags forward slightly. He knows, and doesn't even try to bring the other end of his nunchaku off from the ground.

They approach him, raising their weapons.]

Mike: [He turns to look over his shoulder, and he shouts desperately. He's partially obscured by Karai Legions.] Donny! [Fear in his voice as he's mostly obscured from view by Karai Legions.] Donny, I'm-- [He lets out a horrific scream as he's cut down.]

Donatello: [Mouth dropping open, eyes wide in horror.] Mikey, noooo!

[Scene fade out.]

[Scene fade in.]

Donatello: [Mouth dropping open, eyes wide in horror.] Mikey, noooo!

[Mike's body is on the ground, laying on his shell, his eyes closed. His arm and legs are straight.

The Karai Legions back off, stand there for a long moment, and then run off towards Don, leaving him there.]

Don: [Angry and pained.] You'll pay for this, Shredder! [He hits two Karai Legions out of his way with his exo-suit's arms. Shredder turns around, eyes narrowed. Donatello's exo-suit thunders down to a stop and he readies the machine guns again.] If it's the last thing I do! [He pulls the joysticks in, bringing the machine guns to face the Shredder.] You. Will. Pay!

[Donatello screams in anger and pain as the machine guns light up Shredder, kicking up dust as some strike the ground. Once Shredder is obscured by the smoke, Donatello stops, raising an eye ridge. Is Shredder...?

Two of Shredder's arms emerge from the smoke, grabbign onto either arm of the exo-suit as Donatello grunts. He lets out a shout as he's lifted into the air.]

Shredder: Thirty years, and this is all you have? [He's grinning.] Truly pathetic. [He crushes the limbs with either hand, electricity from the circuits going across his hand as he rips the arms off. Donatello lets out a long shout as he falls to the floor on the Legion's back. Now, he looks down at Donatello with contempt.] Disgusting creature!

[Donatello has the Karai Legion back on its knees, only to get in the metal area just under his exposed body, sending him flying with another shout. Headband tails whipping, he falls a couple dozen feet away from Shredder with a groan.]

Leo: [As two Karai Legions rush towards him, he calls out desperately.] Donny! [he jumps over the first, which turns around, and lands crouched. He stands and slices the one still running at him in half, turning to meet the other, ducking under its sword swing, cutting it in half just like the other one. He turns, off-balance, at the sound of rushing feet. It's Karai, shouting as she charges Leonardo. Leo's looks shocked, surprised.] Huhn?!

[Their swords meet.]

Karai: [Gritting her teeth.] I beg you--leave this place or you will force me to do that which--[They both press harder into the meeting swords--]--my duty--[And they separate, stepping back.]--commands.

[A moment, and then she rushes him again. Steel meets steel, and Karai continues past Leo, jumping up and behind him when he swings at her. She tries to take him out with a downward strike, but he flips on his hands and sword to dodge, then shifting his stance to kick at her leg while righting himself. Karai catches his leg, then throws him, his sword slipping from his grip, and he lets out a shout just before slamming through a display case, hitting the wall, and sliding down it with a groan.]

Leo: [On his hands and knees, he shakes his head, gritting his teeth, perhaps even angrily.] Not this time, Karai! This time you have to make a choice! [He forces himself back onto his feet, then charges her.] Once and--[He jumps over her swing as she rushes to meet him, flipping through the air.]--for all! [He lands in front of a Karai Legion's arm, grabbing it with both hands as he hears Karai rushing up behind him. He stands, turns, and throws it at Karai, who deflects it with her weapon. Before she can strike at him again, he twists and kicks her in the stomach, turning around again as he tries to punch her but misses, missing another kick that goes over her head.

He rushes up to punch her, only for her to dodge, and he ducks under her sword swing. Finally, he manages to grab a hold of her sword arm and throws her over his shoulder. She hits the ground forcibly on her back, flips, and then ends up sliding to a stop on her stomach.]

Leo: [Leo walks up to his sword, bringing a foot under it to kick it, twirling, back into his hand. He slices down once as he gains control of it before resting it on his shoulder.] I'm sorry, Karai. [He brings his sword up in both hands.] I never wanted it to--[Karai fights to bring her head up as he talks, and she looks anguished.]--to be this way. [There's a metallic sound behind him. He straightens, then turns around to slice clean in half the Karai Legion charging his back.]

[The top of the Legion falls noisily to the ground, followed shortly by the bottom half. Leonardo drops his sword. Karai's sword comes into view behind Leonardo. A long trail of light from a sword slice.

Leonardo lets out a horrific scream, cutting it off by gritting his teeth. He lets out a choked moan, a slice into his trench coat visible on his back, then collapses onto his hands and knees with another groan. He's visible through Karai's lower legs.]

Karai: [Quietly.] Forgive me, Leonardo.

Raph: Leoooo! [He reels back slightly.] Nooooooooo! [He charges Karai, who turns around in surprise. It doesn't save her from being tackled by a full-grown turtle, who wraps his arms around her so she can't roll away as he knocks her to the ground--except she gets her feet under him and sends him flying through a display case just like Leo--his shell, which seems uninjured, is viewable as he's flipped over. This time, it is with less force, and he merely falls into the display case instead of hitting the wall.]

[She charges at him, sword ready. Raphael uncurls and grabs a piece of sharp glass in his hand and throws it at Karai like a Shuriken, who only deflects and shatters it. He rushes at her again, weaponless, and another view of his shell can be seen. Karai lifts her sword over her head to slice at him, but he dodges to get behind her, jumping up slightly as he kicks her violently in the back. He lands on his feet as she falls onto her side, but he's barely standing for a moment before he's going towards her again. Throughout this time, he's making his standard noises of rage.

He jumps into the air, foot first, and prepares to land on her back, as she's only just starting to get up. She gets one foot underneath her and her sword at the ready, slicing out as he goes to land the finishing blow.]

Raph: [He lets out a scream of pain as he flies through the air, letting out another as he lands on his upper shell near his shoulders and his head, flipping down the rest of the way onto his stomach. With a pained groan and his eye clenched closed, he slowly forces himself onto his hands and knees, shaky. He looks over to his right, where Leo is dead on his back now with his mouth open and a left hand on his chest.

Groaning, Raphael slowly crawls towards Leo's right side, moaning out his name.] Leooo...! [He stops just near his side, reaching out for his brother.] Leoooooo...! [He tries to lean forward to touch him, with the last of his strength, but it isn't enough. His eyes grow wider for a moment and he shakes with the effort, and then, all at once, his energy leaves him. His eye slides closed and his expression drops as his body falls.

In death, he reaches Leo it. His left hand is just touching Leo's fingers, his head having fallen against Leo's side. Just under Leo's knee is where his right hand rests.]

[Karai stands there, mouth slightly open, in shock at what she's done to them.]

April: [SHouting out angrily.] Karai! [Karai looks over her shoulder, perhaps a mixture of shame, guilt, and surprise on her face. April has a missile launcher, different than the one before, on her shoulder.] End of the line. [The launcher warms up to fire. Karai turns around fully and, after twirling her blade and slicing it to the side once, charges at April with a shout.]

[The rocket launcher is faster. It fires, sending April stumbling back with the force. Karai is shouting louder, but as the rocket flies towards her, she stumbles, trying to backpeddle, letting out a gasp with fearful eyes.

An explosion. Karai is thrown back, landing on her back, then rolling and bouncing over and over until she rests on her stomach with a groan. She attempts to get up slowly, in the same fashion as Raphael. April approaches her, gritting her teeth.]

Karai: [Weakly, wincing one eye closed.] Master... [She starts to fall, but chatches herself halfway down.] I am finished. [With a groan, she falls limp to the ground and goes still. April stands over her body.]

Shredder: [The right machine gun falls off of Donatello's Karai Legion suit as Shredder laughs. He gloats as Donatello forces his exo-suit to stand up.] You are the last [He steps forward, towards Donatello.] of your kind, [Donatello looks over his shoulder towards the Turtle Tunneler's unactivated drill.] Donatello. [Shredder continues walking towards Donatello, who stands there, unmoving.]

Shredder: [A moment later, Shredder grips the shoulder guards of Donatello's exo-suit--the turtle first looks surprised, then grits his teeth--and lifts him up into the air, just in front of the drill. He brings Donatello closer to his face, gripping Donatello's jaw and chin in one of his other hands.] And now, I will crush you like the insignificant worm that you are.

Donatello: [Unphased by this, his eyes narrowed.] You always did claim victory--[He flips open a small panel on the side of the right control stick.]--before you actually-- [He brings his index finger back and up, revealing a button underneath.]--won.

Donatello: This whole attack was to get you into position to--[His eyes are narrowed with anger, an expression like Raph's worst rages coming across his face at his last word.]--do this!

[Don brings his finger down onto the button, sounding a beep. Hatches open on either side of the Turtle Tunneler's front, and grappling hooks shoot out of them, wrapping themselves around both exo-suits.]

Shredder: What?! [The chains continue to grow tighter.] What is happening?! [The drill flickers to life, and the chains start pulling them towards the drill, even though Shredder digs his feet into the ground.] No! I am the Shredder! I am the Shredder! [Don gets out of the top of his exo-suit, jumping free just before the drill goes through it and causes it to fall to the ground, free of the chains.] I am the Shredder! [His eyes go wide with fear just as the drill reaches him and he lets out a horrific scream as he gets vaporized.]

[The drill slows down, then bursts forth a column of energy for a moment as it flickers off. Donatello is standing in front of it, one foot higher than the other as he stands on the wreckage that was once Shredder's exo-suit. His forearm is resting against the higher thigh.]

Don: It's done.

[April drops her rocket launcher, her head tilted forward with her eyes closed, a slight frown on her face as she stands tall. She glances up and looks quickly to her left as she hears footsteps.]

Don: [Walking to her, then past her, looking up.] My brothers. My poor brothers. This world. [He brings his arms closer to his body, turning around to look at April, leaning back.] This future. [He brings his forearms out slightly, then leans forwards] It's a nightmare.

April: [Holds up her left hand as she talks.] It was a nightmare, Don. But you--[She holds both hands up for a moment then swiftly drops them. Donatello's squeezes his eyes closed in pain.]--Leo, Raph, and Mikey--[She's smiling, looking relieved as she tilts her head to the side.]--you gave us back our future.

Donatello: [He stares at her in surprise for a moment, and then suddenly that blue outline from earlier returns and he starts fading out. He looks over himself with a panic.] April! It's happening again! Something's pulling me away! [His eyes are wide.] It's stronger this time!

April: [She reaches out for him.] Donny! Remember, there's always hope! [She closes her eyes and shakes her head.] No matter what!

[Donatello disappears from that world with a cry.]

April: [Tilting her head down for a moment with closed eyes before looking up again.] And... thank you. [She stands in the wreckage of the room.]

[The sun rises on a new day.]
