I've pondered the question myself, and have not been able to come up with anything. I settled with simply making all my entries friends-only after a point... although I eventually got tired of the pretend secrecy, and now most of my entries are public. There may ben an answer to your question on the livejournal FAQ section. I've looked there in the past and could not figure out how to do it, so if you do I'd love to know how.

I'm assuming you know how to modify the preferences for your journal so that it automatically changes the privacy of entries you post. You're the one with the 1337 web skillz, after all. ;-)
