Jojo closed her laptop when her penpal signed off saying he was tired. She sighed and looked out the sliding screen door of the hotel room she was sharing with her friend. They had arrived in the California city Los Angeles two nights before with the intention of enjoying the city and attending a concert at the Staples Center. Jojo had long, naturally wavy brown hair and straight-cut bangs on the right side, stripes dyed light blue. She was tan a nice light color, not pale like her friend, with bright hazel eyes.
Out on the balcony was her friend, the red-haired girl with a pixie haircut and crystal eyes, eating Thai noodles she cooked in the microwave and surfing the internet. She was very pale, like a true Irishwoman, with light freckles dotting her skin. She was quiet by nature, much like her friend, but could burst out into the most random hysteric fits.
Already bored with herself, Jojo stood up and walked the short distance between where she sat and the sliding screen doors. She threw the door open and walked out into the hot LA sun, gaining her friend’s attention over the Internet and Thai noodles. “I’m bored,” Jojo stated when Gwen just stared at her.
Gwen looked down at her little box of noodles and stirred it with her chopsticks, obviously having no interest in entertaining her friend. “What do you want me to do about it?”
“Mi already signed off,” Jojo said, pouting and staring out at the pool that they had an excellent view of that no one was swimming in. “Nothing is on the TV but News, and I didn’t bring anything else.”
“And?” Gwen asked through a mouthful of noodles. She was staring at the screen of her laptop again, clearly finding it more amusing than her bored friend.
“We don’t have anything to do until tonight,” Jojo said, her voice trailing off at the end as if in thought, “so we should go do something.”
Gwen scooped another mouthful of noodles into her mouth, clicking on her computer’s mouse a few times, and asked, “Like what?”
Sighing, Jojo answered, “I don’t know; walk around?” She looked at her friend who only looked back skeptically. Sinking lower into her seat, she let out a whine. “I don’t know! It’s my first time in LA!”
“Mine too,” Gwen replied, taking her fingers off the keyboard and looking at her friend. “And it’s really hot out right now. I’m sweating just sitting out here.”
Leaning forward, Jojo smirked and Gwen stared back warily. “Maybe you’re brain’s working too hard,” Jojo sing-songed, whining when Gwen reached across the little round table to smack her upside the head.
“We might as well just hang out here until the concert,” Gwen continued despite her friend’s pouting. “There are only a couple hours before we should head over there anyway.”
“Well… fine,” Jojo slowly agreed, pout still firmly on place, knowing full well that she was probably just submitting herself to a couple hours of boredom locked up in a little hotel room. “But we better leave early cuz I want to eat before going!”
