Not active user either but it works almost the same as Twitter. Most of people greatly share and retweet post. It's really a great source!

I'm not sure about the character limit because most of accounts that I follow usually post pics, gifs, clips more than wording. If you follow someone's account you still can access her page, her download links but for download one they usually hidden under comments and they set password and it takes some patient to figure it out.

Does one need to follow and/or be followed back in order to see the links? Or it works like LJ communities, where you need to request for access?

Sometimes I see the post and the person mentioned about how she has updated with an upload, but I don't see the link.
