Wow, it’s been so long since I’ve posted D:!! Anyway, hi again! I’ve successfully completed my first week of Senior year :) I feel like this year will be amazing! My classes are awesome, my locker is awesome, my social life is awesome, my work is awesome, my self esteem and motivation are awesome. It’s just awesome. And I’ve done ALL my homework, which is quite a rarity, and I don’t plan on giving up. Classes seem a lot easier and stress free when I do my homework. Anyway, here is my schedule:
1st: Ceramics I - It’s fun, but majorly messy. It’s unfortunate because won’t be able to wear too nice of clothes :( but that’s ok. I took ceramics in 8th grade so I’m not too excited for this class, but oh well, it’s art and I have no homework :)
2nd: Sci Fi - normally I don’t read assigned books because they are in no way interesting to me half the time, but Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror are actually INTERESTING to me. So I think I’ll enjoy this class. Plus he teacher is so whacky and hilariously nerdy. I love it :)
3rd: AP Studio Art - Ever since freshman year, this has been the one class I have dreamed of taking. I love art, but not necessarily structured art classes so this is perfect. We get our own little studio space and can draw or paint whatever the heck we feel like making. I’ve known the teacher since sophomore year and he’s such a chill guy. I really hope I develop some quality art!!
4th: AP Statistics - OK, this is a joke of a class D: Which is so nice because Pre-Calc Honors was such a horrifying experience for me and this is so…easy. I know it will get harder, but the concepts should be more understandable than derivatives. Calc just doesn’t click with me and even if I took “easy” Calc, I’m sure I would still fall behind. It’s nice that this is still an accelerated, upper level class. It really SUCKS, though, because a girl who got me in big trouble freshman year (and sits right in front of me… she’s so dumb! She complains about how cold she is when she’s wearing a SEE THROUGH SHIRT, OMG D:<) and a guy I’ve had a past with are in it. ugh… oh well
5th: my off period. I’m supposed to go to the Studio room and work on art this period
6th: Astronomy - I HATE science like none other so I opted for Astronomy because it’s only a semester long and I didn’t want to go into Physics. It’s seemed like it’d be interesting, but so far it’s pretty dull
7th: AP Human Geography - I originally took this class in order to have one of my favorite teachers, but he got promoted to Activities Director and isn’t teaching anymore :( But the teacher I do have is very….quirky, I guess. I find his enthusiasm amusing and he doesn’t know what Hot Topic is, so I guess that’s a + to his character.
8th: AP Chinese - HOLY SHIT HARD CLASS DDDDDDDDDDD: I don’t think Chinese is fun anymore. I love my classmates and my teacher and the club, but I’m scared that I’ll fail or mess up or I don’t know. I’m running for the president of the club again this year, with a junior as my co-pres, so if I drop out next semester, I’d feel terrible. 80% of the kids who take the AP test are native speakers so I’m not going to take the test because I’m pretty sure it’ll be impossibly hard DX oh well…
And that’s my day! Not too shabby. :)
Anyway, I guess I might as well talk about the rest of my summer since it was pretty amazing, to say the least. I definitely would love to live in NYC.
I was really nervous the first day. I wore my Meta special set OP (the white one with musical notes) but got really self conscious and just changed out of it. later on I found out my outfit was pretty popular XD haha. Anyway, my roommate was super sweet and we became pretty good friends, but she hung out with the elitist fashion kids (ew). My group of friends consisted mostly of 4 people: Emily (my best friend, by far, there. Fashion major), Isabelle (Em’s roommate. architecture major, had barely any time to breathe because of it), Nina (their suitemate, very sweet girl. Graphic Design major), and Millie (lives in Greeley, Jewish, peppy little junior. Fine Arts Major). Then there were a bunch of people outside that but that was the core group.
The program for fashion design was a JOKE beyond JOKES. The people in my class were art-tarded and in our foundations class we had to make a COLOR WHEEL. Like, WHAT?! WHO HASN’T DONE THAT BEFORE?! Seriously… =__= And I didn’t learn anything in fashion class, they just were like “make shitty drawings for fashion “collections”. YAY FASHION!” and the teacher was rarely in the room :/ We went on a bunch of field trips, which I could have done on my own time D: But I did manage to buy some super adorable fabric that I can use for a lolita dress for $2 a yard. The only think I really learned was how to draw the human figure better, since we got to draw from nude models.
There was also an Art History class that I thoroughly enjoyed. We got to go check out a bunch of museums. I took AP Art History last year (and got a 4 on the test!! YAY for passing) so it was nice to be able to intelligently discuss the paintings with….well, myself, because everyone else was pretty stupid. I get incredibly excited about things. At the end of the course we had to choose a piece of art that we liked and explain it. I chose the Arnolfini Wedding by Jan van Eyck because for some reason he’s one of my favorite painters and my presentation took, like, 5 minutes. Everyone else’s presentations took, like, 1 minute. You can only repeat “I like the colorsssssss…” so many times :/ I even jumped into someone else’s presentation to explain cubism and analyze the different parts of the piece because I was so tired of the stupid explanations people had for enjoying art. I dunno, I’m elitist like that, but it’s just agitating when you’re stuck in a room full of girls who are so stereotypical valley that it’s not even funny.
Anyway, I really would love to live in NYC. I’ve always felt like a big city is where I belong. It’s kind of scary imagining next year… But oh well, I look forward to the future :)
Anyway, today was a really good day. I got to go to the teashop at Belmar. I drank Pumpkin Cream-flavored herbal tea with my Mom. I then went to Gimme Gimme Pillow Toast and met up with a bunch of local lolitas. It was a fun afternoon of cupcakes, Elephant Bar, Claire’s, and Gloomy Bear massacres. Thanks so much for the great day, you people!! Haha.
Well, it’s getting late and I have school so I should probably cut this off here. :] I’ll update some other time, possibly with pictures XD
As always, thanks for reading!!
Oh, and I think I’m going to set this journal to friends only soon; I’m just am too lazy to right now, haha. :)
