Well, yesterday I decided to go downtown. I haven't had the resources to go out much and yesterday wasn't much different so I made some effort to get dressed and made my mother drive me to the lightrail station before she went off to eat and drink with her friends. I got to the Lincoln station around 11:30 after my Mom picked up one of her friends (I never go to the Lincoln station so it was a new experience~!) and I waited and waited for my train. I got on and it was pretty empty and it was nice. I liked the tranquility of it all. I listened to music and danced in my seat until I got off at 16th and California. I then proceeded to wander the Pavilions <3 It was really fun. I went to Bath and Body Works and spent, like, a half hour there because there was an incredibly cute (and most likely gay) salesperson working there. He and I talked a little bit and he complimented my fashion style and my kitty bag. It was nice. :) I ended up spending over $30 there and got a free eau de toilette, so that was also pretty spiffy. So anyway, I left and wandered up and down 16th for a while and met a few wannabe goth kids who were all like "you're so cute!! OMG! I wish I had cool clothes" (which was funny cuz I was wearing a Khols outfit) and so I smiled at them and chatted a little bit then headed down to D&F Tower, the turned around and wandered over to Juice Stop and got an Aloha Pineapple drink. I then wandered over to the Yum Yum Cupcake place which has the BEST cupcakes, like, EVAR (they're always so spongy and soft and the icing is just so good too! MMMM!) and got a Pink Lady and just sat outside and ate it. It started spitting but oh well. I finished my yummy cupcake and headed back down 16th to the TJ Maxx because I like buying Converse and brand purses there. I went in and wasn't very pleased until I saw a Harajuku Lover Narita bag. It was a mega cute print and I LOVE the size of the Narita ones. So I bought it for $60. I then decided that I spent way too much so I headed to the lightrail station. It was around 3:00 and I called my Mom to see if she was home to pick me up. She told me to hang out a little bit longer so I just started down 16th street past the D&F Tower (OMG, I remember the TAI concert there!!) into the great unknown. XD jk, but seriously, I hadn't gone past there alone before. It was kind of creepy. Some guy with no front teeth came up to me and asked where I got my combat boots because "he wanted a pair" and another guy gave me some flowers he picked out of a flower pots and gave them to me and said "here's some beautiful flowers for a beautiful redhead" and he patted me on the arm. It was WAY creepy.
Anyway, I was almost to Union Station when I looked across the street and-OMG-found the Tattered Cover. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that bookstore so I hurried in and wandered to the second floor. My feet hurt from wandering for so long in a pair of combat boots so I just looked but couldn't find anything so I sat down in a chair by the language section and picked up a book on how to speak Chinese and studied. My mind was fogy and couldn't remember much of what I had learned the previous two school years (Oh, Chinese 3! I'm so screwed...) so I just stared and tried speaking to myself when suddenly some guy with a British accent was all like "excuse me, is anybody sitting here" and pointed to a chair that was near me. I shook my head no and so he sat down. I continued studying my foreign language of choice until he wandered around and looked at the language books. I sitting really close to bookshelf so when he went passed me he apologized in his silly accent. He was really polite, it was funny. But anyway, I continued glaring at the pinyin when suddenly he interrupted my intense book reading by asked me to pick a number between one and one-thousand. I chose 125 and he looked in his USA guide book and told me he was going to Las Vegas next. I giggled seeing as it was kind of ridiculous to choose where you go arbitrarily. He proceeded to apologize for his interruption and he went off to reading his book and I went off reading mine. He interrupted me a few times more, followed by another apology, until we started really talking. It was a real gem, being able to talk to someone of which I don't have a real intimate connection with. And it really was a real conversation. I admitted to him things I refuse to tell anyone else and he just smiled and let me babble and then he would babble about something else and it was really interesting. Anyway, the guy, James, is 20 and from Great Britain. He's backpacking across America (which I think is a funny idea) and pretty much backpacks across different places across the world in the summers. He was really intriguing and I really enjoyed talking to him. It wasn't as awkward at all and he really opened my mind up a little bit more then it already is. I plan everything out to a T and he enjoys taking life at it comes at him. We also discussed how a woman's body is a work of art and a man's is made for functionality. It was really a nice conversation, an unexpected treat. But he ended the conversation when he was getting too "interested" in me and he ended it with "well, the right half of me has won over the wrong half and I have to go seeing as we're 4 years apart", which was unfortunate, but oh well. So I gave his an awkward hug and he did the "kiss kiss" thing that foreigners do and we parted. I then ran down to the lighrail, hopped on a train, and went back home.
I then went to see Mamma Mia with my DAD (yeah, bad idea). It's awkward watching a musical full of sexual jokes aimed at women with my Dad. But oh well. I liked. I've always been a closet fan of ABBA, ever since I danced alone in my room to a "Disco Hits" CD which had "Dancing Queen" on it, and then when A*Teens came out with their cover album. It's really great music. I LOVE ABBA!
Well, this was too long of an entry. Sorry! Now, to the pictures:
