The sun's rays peeked through the intricately laced curtains, landing subsequently on Kamenashi's delicate features. The bright light made him stir, feeling slightly agitated at the disruption of his precious sleep. After acknowledging the dreaded fact that he wouldn't be getting back to sleep, Kamenashi rolled onto to his side and slowly peeked through his eyelids. His vision immediately fell upon the peaceful sleeping face of the man he loved most in the world. Akanishi Jin.
The older man's hair was in disarray - random strands of hair stuck to his forehead and scattered across his face - creating a look of what most people tend to forget idols are; human.
A steady stream of saliva traveled from Jin's completely open mouth, down his cheek, making a small, clear puddle form on his pillow. This silk bed sheets that were once wrapped snuggly around them both were now strewn messily across Jin's exposed midriff, serving no more purpose than to cause slight discomfort, not that it looked like the older man cared at all. His left foot hung lazily off the front of their bed, leading Kamenashi to think that maybe it was time to upgrade their full-sized bed to something larger.
Kamenashi smiled to himself, thinking about how simply they both lived compared to the image others set out for them. Although he was always honest when it comes to those interviews that ask all kinds of nosy questions, people still seemed to have the idea in their heads that he was absolutely perfect, living and doing everything he did perfectly.
To be honest, Kamenashi believed himself to be a very simple man, and not perfect at all. Sure, he was good-looking and very talented, but to him looks meant almost close to nothing. Idols aren't perfect and nor do they live perfect lives.
Lying there watching Jin as he slept was always a humbling experience for Kamenashi. His eyelids grew heavy once more, the feeling of total peace spreading throughout his entire body as he lay basking in the warmth of the sun's radiating light. Kamenashi slowly wriggled closer to Jin, trying hard to not shift the bed too much so as to not wake the man next to him.
He gently brought his hand up to rest upon Jin's heart, feeling the slow, calm thump and letting it guide him back to sleep. Kamenashi felt his consciousness begin to drift, until a sudden loud snore erupted from Jin's mouth and startled him, causing him to jump. Now sitting in an upright position, Kamenashi glanced at Jin, who seemed not to have been disturbed by the absurd noise. His heartbeat decreased back to normal, letting his mind process what had just occurred. Despite his shock at how such a sound could possibly be made, Kamenashi began to giggle, something which later turned into uncontrollable laughter.
Having heard the younger man, Jin groaned and grabbed his pillow from under his head. He flung it at Kamenashi who, laughing so hard he hadn't any time to deflect the attack, was hit square in the face. Kamenashi immediately quieted his laughter, letting only a few giggles escape his clenched lips.
"So noisy..." Jin groaned sleepily, soon falling back into his deep sleep.
Yes, it was those moments that reassured Kamenashi that he and Jin were, simply put, just human.♥
