Welcome to the Ichigo/Orihime FanFest community! Hopefully you'll find a place here for your Muse to find inspiration to create some wonderful fanworks for our beautiful couple. Let's get this party started with the rules and FAQs.

So first thing's first: what is an Ichigo/Orihime fanfest?
Essentially, it's a prompt community for Ichigo/Orihime fans, but rather than a pure fanfiction challenge community, I thought it would make life more fun to invite all those wonderful Ichigo/Orihime artists out there to take part in the challenge as well.

How do I become a member?
Easy! Just click on JOIN on the community profile page or, alternatively, click here.

How do I submit my masterpiece?
You must be a member to post and, therefore, participate unless you would like me to post on your behalf, for example, if you don't have an LJ account. Once you are a member, you can post! However posts will be moderated so I can catch any issues that may arise.

So how do the rounds work?
Basically I will post up a challenge post where you can claim your prompt. Posting of fanworks for that round will remain open for three months once the challenge post goes up so the sooner you claim, the more time you will have to work on your piece.

Ichigo/Orihime is my Muse's favourite. Can I submit more than one fanwork per round?
You sure can! However you can only have one prompt at a time so you'll have to finish each prompt before claiming another that has yet to be claimed. The prompt must already be on the challenge post in order to be claimed, you cannot submit your own plot bunny for subsequent claims. Other than that, feel free to create as many wonderful works as you'd like!

What if my Muse has come up with another prompt that isn't listed?
As long as your Muse has come up with a prompt that fits the theme of the round, you are free to use that prompt once I've approved it. Your prompt is best posted at the suggestions post, as comments there are screened, and I will approve your claim as soon as possible. As long as you submit your comment prior to the claiming deadline, you will still be able to take part in the round, even if I don't approve the prompt until afterwards.

What if my Muse has come up with something brilliant for a future challenge?
Then I will be thanking your Muse! Please head over to the suggestions post and leave a screened comment and, if I can, I will try to use your prompt in a future challenge.

Are there any restrictions on what I can submit?
This is a fairly open community (or at least I hope it is!) and we'll accept pretty much anything. Angst, fluff, humour, deathfic, smut and, of course, romance. All ratings will be accepted as well, as long as your entry is properly labelled.

The only restrictions I can think of at this point in time is the minimum word count of 300 words for fanfiction and also the presence of other pairings in your fic. Other pairings are, of course, welcome however please keep in mind that this is an Ichigo/Orihime community: Ichigo/Orihime should be the primary focus of your work (although you are allowed to have as many supporting pairings as you wish) and should ultimately be the end pairing of your work. For instance, if you would like to explore Orihime's perceived one-sided feelings and not have Ichigo and Orihime finish the fic as a couple, go crazy! However Ichigo cannot be paired off with another character, his feelings for Orihime should, at worst, be left ambiguous.

Real life's been hectic and I haven't had a chance to finish my work. Are you going to kill me?
Of course not! We all understand that real life can sometimes get in the way of fandom so I'm not going to come chasing after you with a pitchfork. However it would be appreciated if you could let me know ASAP so I can open up the prompt for another author or artist.

FAIL. My question hasn't been answered here! What do I do?
Please leave a comment to this entry (all comments are screened) or, alternatively, drop me a PM and I will get back to you ASAP. =)

All of this information can also be found on the community profile.

rules ➙ claiming.
  1. Challenges take place in rounds which last around three months. Please comment on the challenge posts to claim your prompt for the challenge. There is no deadline on claiming, but the sooner you claim, the more time you will have to work on your piece. Claiming is first come, first served.
  2. A single prompt may be claimed ONCE for fanfiction and ONCE for fanart, i.e. one author and one artist may share a prompt. You may claim once for fic and once for art in the same challenge if you wish but not for the same prompt. Also, if you finish your claim early, feel free to come back and claim any prompts that are still free.
  3. If you wish to submit fic or art that is rated NC-17 or M, you must provide proof that you are of age, either in your comment or via PM.
rules ➙ posting.
  1. Fanfiction submitted must be a minimum of 300 words. There is absolutely no maximum, submit a magnum opus if you so wish! =)
  2. Please try and submit your fanwork by the due date. Late works may be accepted but there is a chance that it will be rejected. If the masterlist for the round has already gone up, further fanworks for that round will not be accepted.
  3. A hard copy of your work must be posted directly to the community, i.e. no fake LJ-cuts. Any entries with fake LJ-cuts will be rejected. You are, however, free to re-post your work to your own journal/community (or any other site you would like to post to) but only after the masterlist for the round has gone up. If you would like to pimp your work, feel free to link to the community, or you can wait until after the masterlist has gone up to link to your own journal.
  4. All fanfiction should be beta-read before it is submitted to the community. If you would like to volunteer as a beta, or would like to find a beta, please check out this post here.
  5. Fanfiction and fanart of all ratings are accepted, however they must be rated appropriately. Anything NSFW should be labelled so -- we don't want to get anyone into any trouble!
  6. All entries should follow the templates set out. If they do not, they will be rejected and will not be accepted until the entry is rectified.

For fanart, feel free to post a small preview of your work (300x300). Everything else in your entry, fic or art, goes under an LJ-cut.

Other than that, please have fun! ❤
