Scott hates walking now that he's gotten used to the car, and we also have monthly appointments, so he wants to sell the car as close to the time we actually move as possible. I think that means late Jan/ early Feb, but Scott estimates it might take a month longer than I think it will to save enough money. Money is the main factor.
Wow, my old red tempo sold for $500, and it was likely not in as good running condition. It needed at least one major repair (which is why it was sold before new inspection time came, getting another car was cheaper and safer). Smelled alright though.
Most people say that one should never make major purchases from family or friends. Such things quite often end up on TV court shows.. You may want to consider putting out an Uncle Henry's ad instead. Which is not to say "don't sell it to Andrew" if he really wants/needs it. Just things to think about. >^_^< .
yeah, honestly, I thought of that too, it's typically really really bad to buy things like cars from someone you know, if it dies, or if Tarsha decides selling it was a bad idea, drama is pretty inevitable.
I'd at least like information though, since
A) I could eat 500 dollars if it turned out it died quickly, I wouldn't be super happy, but I would not freak out either, it would be annoying to lose 500 dollars, but not world ending, so it's okay to risk a little if it ends up being an okay car.
B) with Tarsha leaving it's unlikely she'd regret selling so cheap. I'd be wary of someone selling a car for so little on fear they'd want it back, but if she's out of Maine it lowers the chance of that happening.
I do agree though, buying major things like cars from friends is a very very bad formula. I definitely can not say I will buy this car at this point, nothing like that, but it is an interesting enough idea that I wouldn't mind basic information like the make and model, year it's from, last time it was inspected, ect.
It's a painting by Yerka. http://www.yerka.pl/stronaI/stronaI-Pages/Image11.html Basically it's a comfy little bed room set up outside...just a place to be. He does lots of wonderful, fantastic paintings, and I love the ones that blur the lines between inside and outside, and the ones that create a feeling of traveling.
I have your book on campus, now so I can get it to you easier, and at a moment's notice. I don't think I'll give it to you, though, so that you'll have to come back up here to visit it.
