Cool - kind of "Contact" meets first guy in space. Nice sense of mystery - what is the craft for anyhow?

There seems to be a countdown theme this week... the freefall I wrote yesterday had someone counting the minutes as they ticked by. Cosmic rays? Shared muses perhaps?

Maybe the pod is the Farscape 1 . . .

. . . or a kamakazi world destroyer on a course through a white hole to destroy a hostile alien species bent on subjugating earthlings . . .

I liked.

Mr. Darcy.

Suspenseful with a nice element of mystery. I felt a funny similarity between your tale and Mr. Darcy's. Lattice and lace used in similar ways. Neat.
