The envitable has happened. I knew it would but it didn't seem to ever hit me that it really would. It is just like it was freshman year when everyone did things on breaks together and we would all come back and they'd all be talking and joking about things I had no idea about. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to complain and I sure hope that I am ( Read more... )

Itchy Eyes by the end of this response. mattisthisguy October 6 2004, 07:30:54 UTC
You are being like every other human being. Fortunately, as you noted, things stay the same more than they change. I know a lot of people here are looking forward to hanging out with you. Just think, when we ready your live journal, we don't even recognize the place names! :)

I think we just have to accept change, as crappy as that sometimes is. Usually, in the end, it works out in our favor. Anyway, I didn't understand your talking about cats, but I'm not gonna dwell on it 'cause cats make my eyes itch, and they make me sneeze. Therefore, just thinking about them brings phantom reactions.

OH MINDY!!

see, some things NEVER change :) just remember that while they're stuck in the boring old united states, you're off in awesome land doing awesome things that we can't even fathom doing here... so don't worry about here and enjoy yourself!! i'm going abroad next semester, and those exact thoughts have crossed my mind all the time, i haven't even left yet.
but you realize that sure for a month you may not know something, however you'll either pick it up or it'll be replaced with new things anyway. and instead you'll be wondering what all your european friends are doing...
i'm terrified of leaving my friends here for 7 months... but they're the most amazing people in the world, so they'll be here when i get back. as will your people, with both of having lots of stories to tell! good luck :)
bye love!!!

oh believe me, i can totally relate to a fear of change. but don't worry, there's no way you've damaged your friendships at school just by going to rome. i can guarantee you everyone there misses the hell out of you. i know ohio sure does. things will be perfectly wonderful when you get back, i'm sure. for now, just have a blast in italy for the rest of us, who are stuck over here.
and no, you're not being greedy. everyone wants things to work out exactly as they had hoped, and they don't want anything to change once they find things that make them happy. unfortunately, things do change, and quite often. but it all seems to somehow work out.
