I need something to do. I don't want to buy a game that has an ending (not willing to spend money/blah about it). Nothing is like how FFXI was .. although I admit it was a really bad addiction for me. Coming back didn't solve much; I just wasn't into it. I'm not sure that I want to play 14; if I can't put in all I have, then it wouldn't be any ( Read more... )

Unfortunately all or nothing is a very poor way to play any game. If you are going to play another mmo may as well play 14 so you can play with all your bestest pals again. If your playing too much I can tell you to go outside or something~ Not to encourage an addiction but I miss you :(

I'm still considering playing. But I feel like I'll always have the "all or nothing" mentality; a game just isn't fun to me if I can't be the "best" in a sense.

I recommend Super Street Fighter IV! The "endings" are hardly endings, the game is forever. And you can put all you have into if you want, practice and get better and better. While you won't have super cool +1 armor to show for it, just raping people in the game left and right is just as good if not better!

Few things are quite as satisfying as pulling off a nasty combo on someone or getting a perfect on a good player. And if you're worried about time commitment, each match can be 5 minutes tops, but average is probably less than 3 minutes. So you're only devoting small intervals of time and can stop whenever you see fit.

Hm, I don't know .. I'm not that big on fighting games? FF is different; it feels more like strategy. And the most fun part of FFXI for me was super cool +1 armor, haha

i hear ya man, i'm having the same problem with FFXI. being really busy IRL doesn't help either, but definately not feeling the game when i do have free time.
