The question was if I was nervous about leaving on Tuesday.

Bleah. Way back when a friend hauled me along to my first few SCA things, there was a guy there who would introduce himself as "Eric the Fruitbat. Eek! Eek!" (jerking his hands up one at a time) "Note the independent wing motion!"

Was he told he couldn't do that? Hell no. He was the Herald. :P

*hugs* and yay for not being boring and conformist! XD

I've been thinking a bit about what you're allowed and not allowed to do. I figure you'd be allowed to do quite a bit since it is the Society for Creative Anachronism. But I might be thinking too deep into it. >.>

Basically what it boiled down to was different views in what the SCA is.
The then Southern Gaard Baron and Baroness had a very strict view, encouraged speaking Latin, everything as period as possible.
Tir Ysgithr encourages participation over appearance. It's hot here, so Middle Eastern makes more sense than European. Heck, our current Baron and Baroness actively encourage shenanigans. Hence the requests for the silly scrolls I do.

It's different approaches. One I didn't fit in. The other, I found a place that people helped make for me.

It's always good to have a place you fit. :) I miss having easy access to that kind of environment.

*blink* I never noticed the speaking Latin thing.

We weren't that bad were we? (Or should that be 'we weren't all that bad, were we?')

:P
