Hairdressers in Manchester

I need a hair cut.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a hairdresser in the city centre or Rusholme/Fallowfield area that's not too expensive?
I don't want anything too fancy and not sure I have the time (nor the level of trust) to go to the Toni&Guy academy.

I go to the union hairdresser (open 10-2 in holidays) who gives me a very nice dry trim. Which is all I ever get at the fancy shops (my hair doesn't do being layered), but it only costs me 4 quid at uni. I think she does more fancy stuff too but I wouldn't know about that.

I've seen some horrendous results of T&G academy, I wouldn't do it.
