my granny is really into the harry potter books so sometimes i read from these, mostly she reads them herself...does yer grandma have a wicked sense of humor or what? do you want sweet books? here's some of my favorite read alouds...

you know, i don't know what part of me thought that "the giving tree" would be "light-hearted"...it had me crying AT THE STORE...and i bought it anyways...when i realized that it was too heavy to read with her, i just decided that i was going to keep it and think of her anytime i read it, she IS the giving tree.
and i also got jumanji (i LOVE anything by chris van allsburg!..but mainly the illustrations.) but she really didn't seem like she wanted to be read to. she wanted to be UP and about. she needed to get out of that room, so i figured i'll save jumanji for another time, maybe a night read when i visit her at night next week.
have you ever read laurie keller's "arnie, the doughnut"? for some reason, that book just cracks me up! i think i'm getting that one for my personal collection of just plain silly books.
