so
even though i have not heard back from the library yet,
i have decided to become familiar with the dewey decimal system.

any pointers/suggestions/words of encouragement from you nerdy types?

Good luck. I have an MLIS and I still don't know it any better than I did in 6th grade!

what has your MLIS done for you?
has it assisted you in job opportunities?

i'm seriously considering going back to school for one as well.
i just don't know if it's going to make a huge difference
or if a certificate will suffice...takes less years to do
and well, i've already got my fair share of college loans to pay back.

Real quick because my mother is here & I have a thousand things to do, but the MLIS/MLS/MIS is pretty much a requirement for academic librarians and archivists. I'd recommend working in the field as a library assistant for a couple of years first though. (Which I did not do and wish I had...)
