this diploma better be good for something!
the student loan company finally reared its ugly head at me
as a giant stack of envelopes arrived in a single mail day.
i opened up every one,
each with its own blow to the heart,
as i just sank deeper and deeper,
knowing i would not be coming up for air
for the next 10 years... -
we live in a barn.
it's officially ours.
the top floor of
a converted farmhouse
built in 1908
original hardwood floors intact
& a clawfoot tub.
and the best part about south pasadena?
the abundance of wild parrots.
escapees apparently.
but absolutely beautiful.
also
i got a second job.
working at a children's bookstore
where i used to purchase Babysitter's ( Read more... ) -
it's pretty much official...
we got the place

it's been a while since i've said much of anything at all 'round this neck o' the woods. i think i much prefer getting so caught up in things that you don't quite know what to say, rather than saying a whole lot about nothing much ( Read more... ) -
good things are happening!
- ronald and i got jobs working at the norton simon museum.
- we've fallen in love with (and applied for) an apartment in Mount Washington, very close to Highland Park.
- Matrushka had a wonderful Daiquiri sale. shopping + alcohol = GENIUS!

so...i picked out my wedding gown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(and my brother is paying for it!!!)
god i LOVE him for that!
i want to do something nice for him.
something really nice.
in the meantime, a nice dinner will suffice. -
at least they made love.
both of our little fiddler crabs have passed away in the span of a week.

we happened to arrive in korea at the very beginning of monsoon season. they say it was sunny just a few days ago. now it's so humid- even a shower seems pointless. and the skeeters have made a sweet little snack of me. the soldier boys are very cordial to us, and not creepy er slobbery at all. i'm currently in my own private hotel room in Kunsan, ( Read more... ) -

getting ready to leave to south korea tonight. wondering whether i'll have cellphone reception. what the weather's gonna be like. if i'll be able to use a blow-dryer. and whether the "american food" they speak of at the US airbase actually means Mc Donald's. even though i'm looking forward to this new adventure, i'm not so excited about the 4 out ( Read more... )
