I really like Arundhati Roy, but I can see why she wouldn't be for everyone. I usually recommend The God of Small Things first, though I no longer loan it out. I am willing to loan out Nickel and Dimed, though. Everyone should read it. Especially conservatives.

Especially anyone who thinks the minumum wage is just fine as it is.
