I'm such a good girl, I've educated myself! I read Erik Saar's Inside the Wire (good book, by the way), and then actually read the appendix with the famous memorandum for Bush in which Gonzales supposedly called the Geneva Gonventions "quaint." Given the similarities between the different detainment camps of torture and abuse, it would seem to me someone taught them that.

I know. I just find it interesting that we heard (or at least I heard) so much morea about the "quaint" line than anything eles from this document. I guess I heard about the war crimes thing to, but still...

Sometimes I wonder if it's the right that starts those stories. You know, someone starts bitching saying that the left is griping about the quaint line and then it catches on. But few read it to see what else is actually in there because they're too busy jumping on the anti-quaint bandwagon to pay attention. And then they pass something obvious like that right under the radar and no one says a thing. Or do I sound too paranoid? I'd put nothing past Rove, though. He's an evil genius.
