I just finished James Yee's book For God and Country: Faith and Patriotism Under Fire. Yee was the Muslim champlain at Guantanamo and tells what it was like working at Gitmo and the story of his arrest and time in solitary confinement for basically no reason aside from the fact that he was Muslim. But honestly, there need to be more progressive books getting around. I signed up for what looked like a liberal book club that was supposed to happen, but it never seemed to launch. That's a bummer. The conservatives certainly have enough of their own. We need to take on stuff like that, too. We need to start competing the way they do. They insert themselves into everything everywhere. People are always finding their messages. From the umpteen million billboards with baby pictures and anti-choice propaganda to the way too many conservative talk shows.
