Rant time. Sorry for the poor editing/grammar:
Dede Allen passed away today at the age of 85. Who's Dede Allen? was the very same question I asked myself when I saw the headline on several news sites. We'll see with Kick Ass. Is it the film's intention that you shudder when kids get brutally attacked? If so, there may be some topical value to it. If the film places the kids in the path of certain peril unflinchingly, just for the sake of being edgy and denying children special treatment, well, yeah, that's original...but will we feel good about enjoying seeing children shot, stabbed at, and brutally attacked? It all depends upon how the film utilizes irony in depiction of its subjects ( ... )

faye dunaway is so hot. =) i did see kick ass, and it was a good action film with a pretty young heroine. i don't think it was really targeted toward children, so i can't say i disagree with the film morally.
