Then bring some warm clothes, because it's cold outside!

I'm not worried about that. I'll dress warm enough.

...You're going stargazing in January?

Why not?

Stargazing?

Sure, why not. But is Saku feeling up to it?

Yep. I wonder if the stars are the same here as they are at home.

Well, I think she'll have fun anyway. It might do her some good to come out and relax!

If it's still the same planet, I guess they would be.

Yeah. You've got a point... but you're in charge of getting her out here. I've done my good deed, as far as Saku's concerned.

Oh cool, then we might see my favorite star. But I should probably double-check to see what time of year you can see it...

Oh, come on, Haseo, she's not that hard to deal with! She's a sweet kid!

Why would you want to go out and see a bunch of stars?

icolo_alkaid January 5 2010, 17:34:37 UTC
Because they're beautiful!

But they're just a bunch of lights in the sky. What's so great about that?

Well, when you think about the scale, it's overwhelming. Those are balls of burning gas that are easily much bigger than the planet we're on, so far away in the universe that they look like little spots in the sky. But each one of those spots is actually something so massive that we wouldn't even register as a dot on it if we were there.

And the light we see might not even exist anymore... that's how long it takes for the light to travel. A star could be dead and we'd never know it!
