kawaii_chicken @ absolucion

I suck at writing tuts so I think we should avoid that you can still ask tho, it's ok. I will, though, to do a Q&A! :D

I HAVE 729371294732847 QUESTIONS D:

So~ how the hell do you make text... just work? Like every single of text in your icon ;A; your text skill is to die for, seriously. /sucks at text
And your textures. God.

Oh before I forgot! What's your favorite font? And one(s) you use most?

Any specific textures that you abuse so much?

I SHALL BE BACK WITH MORE QUESTIONS, I HOPE. *brainstorms*

This icon meme thing sounds fun.

LMAOOOO. GO FOR THEM, I GUESS?

See I'm not even sure myself. I always like messing around with numerous fonts & rotating them, moving them, etc. I think my advice is just to play with it. :V Hoarding fonts works too! OHHH ADDING A DROP SHADOW TO EMPHASIS THE FONT & MAKE IT POP. I like to sometimes keep each text layer in a separate layer on a folder in the psd so I could manipulate them at my will. Lol since I am feeling like it, I'll do a cheap font guide at my comm & try to explain what my text process is. :3 Okay?

OKAY. My favorite font is also the one I use the most! My favorite is "League Gothic". It's recently become my crack. Okay that's a huge lie bc it's been my crack for awhile.Surprisingly, not really. I don't have a preference for textures. I'll usually just pick whatever inspires me atm. Which is surprising. For my backgrounds I usually grab the first grunge texture I see and set it to multiply/soft light/darken to give that texture like look my icons have. D: But besides that I'll use the first texture that catches my ( ... )

- I've always wanted to ask this-- how do you crop out the object out of its original artwork so neatly?? if this makes any sense, but you could make amazing icon even from detailed artwork like CLAMP's :') which is amazing!

- what adjustment layer you use to make the people/object match with your rainbow-y background?

- I think I often see cloud/sky texture used in your icons, where do you particularly download them? Or did you make them yourself?

i-i hope you don't mind with these questions |D;; ♥

I always extract my images, it's a habit I picked up back when I used to make large scale wallpapers @ Minitokyo & AnimePaper. When I extract them though I always do it in the original size. Afterwards I'll just resize it & viola! It looks clean & workable. Ty. ;A ( ... )

Yw! I figured I was doing an awful job at explaining so a gif would be better. I don't mind as long as I know how to answer it...? like I can never answer text questions bc idk how to explain how I go about it. D:

Aww, trust! Extracting the image, it doesn't matter in what size tbh, will always help! :V Yw. &hearts

OKAY, IT'S ONLY FAIR.

1. Use curves, brightness/contrast, hue/saturation & selective color, then a weird combo of a blue-ish gradient + a tan layer. I shit you not, that's how I do color. CURVES IS MY BFF~ :U

2. I'll place my text then I'll sit there for a good 15 minutes just going through all my fonts until I see something that fits my icon. That's it, after that I'll do what I always do: rotate, separate, manipulate the text, drop shadow & work with the text's color. :I I fail, ik.

3. Days. Or hours. Not a lie. On average I'll spend about more than hour or so. I spend so much time just staring at the base of an icon or just finishing text/textures it's ridiculous.. :/// I am ashamed jsyk.

4. They're always random, I tend to cake textures over an icon until I get the result I want. I mean this, I told fee the same thing, I sincerely don't have a favorite. :O I mean if you tell me a specific icon I could tell you what I used in it but besides that I'm at a loss. IO

I'm sorry, idk how to answer things. ;A;
