*resurrected* Yes, that's right - I'm back! It's been almost 2 years since I made that hiatus post. I had never intended for it to be so long but it just happened and it was very unfortunate. Firstly, my laptop's hardware broke shortly after my exams and I lost over half of my files, including the Photoshop program and other related stuff like  ( Read more... )

Hey, thanks! Things are definitely going better for me.

And yeah, I kind of expected less replies, actually. I wasn't sure if everyone would still remember me and be around. But it's ok. Even just having one loyal member makes me smile and gives me some inspiration. :)

Ironcally, icon makers are even more fickle than members/watchers.. (I'm a good example now, lol).

I remember you! It's been a while since I've been back on LJ as a regular member (going under different names, for right now I have a name that suits, I think, but I've definitely appreciated your icons in the past). I had to comment because when you mentioned Tibetan Buddhism, my jaw dropped. That's pretty much what I've been thinking of, too! I was really interested in Buddhism at university, and I just really resonate with that sort of thing. Anyway, I'll pop on over to your other journal because I'd LOVE to include more Buddhist stuff with my journal (and credit you, obviously!). Anyway, just wanted to wave and say there are others who appreciate you. :-)

Hiya! :) *waves back* Thanks for the nice comment!
Yeah, I've always felt drawn to Tibetan Buddhism ever since I was a child, actually. I grew up watching movies such as Kundun and 7 Years in Tibet. I attend a dharma center every once in a while and have become friends with all kinds of Tibetan people, but mostly lamas and monks. They're truly kind and friendly. So they're kinda one of the main reasons why I feel at home with this.

*nods* I get that. My senior year in high school, I was in an art class, and our substitute for the second semester (our other one took a sabbatical, but the one replacing her was so cool) actually took us as a class to go watch the Buddhist monks in the Fine Arts Center (Salem College in the US, all women college), create a sand mandala on their peace/Free Tibet tour of the States. I went there twice, and just being around that really helped me out of a depression that I'd hit at that time in my life. Have you watched "Blindsighted"? I've just heard of it, and watched the trailer. It's about Tibetan (I think!) children, all blind, with blind leaders, climbing the mountain that's in the shadow of Mt. Everest. Not specifically about Buddhism, but thought it might perhaps interest you.
