This tutorial is translatable.

01. Crop an image, resize to 100x100.


02. Layer - New Fill Layer - Solid Color - #F8F7F4. Set this layer to Normal (opacity: 100%)


03. Duplicate Layer 1 (or background layer) and put it in the top. Set it to Color Burn (opacity: 100%).


04. Duplicate this layer and sey it to Color Burn (opacity: 75%).


05. Layer - New Fill Layer - Solid Color - #F8F7F4. Set this layer to Color (opacity: 100%)


06. Duplicate Layer 1 (or background layer) and put it in the top. Set it to Multiply (opacity: 100%) and desaturate it.


07. Paste a texture (made by peoplemachines):


08. Set it to Screen (opacity: 100%)


09. Merge layers and add brushes/lyrics/textures/patterns, etc. I added my text brush:
